Wondering how fast SFXman and all you other boardies type

I don't type that fast...but the test is kinda stupid. Not really on a single topic (2min test). It jsut tosses a bunch of sentences together. And I don't like the interface... I know I can type faster than that...just stoopid test.

My typing slows down after lunch though - gets messier...

I think I type fastest (and think fastest) just before lunch.

Hehe.... I was doing great last night with the CPM meter at nearly 400 then I hear "[my name here] come downstairs, now." and since it sounded so menacing I had to.... had around 45 seconds left on the clock but nooooo.

Today I shall try to reach some nicer score, problem is that I tend to get around 10 mistyped words each game and those bring the score down some bit.

Yeah the ones like QOTD: and the commas at the end of words throw me a bit.


PS. I think I'm officially an alien or something ... I type too fast!

PPS. two pints of guinness at lunch puts me down to 531 CPM.

Those tests aren't very accurate, as pretty much everyone can type a lot quicker when they are thinking what to type as they type, rather than having to copy it from somewhere.

It's a test of reading plus typing speed combined I suppose...

Still fun to try - see how sore your fingers/wrists can get

hehe, on the same test I managed to spell disintegrates wrong twice, but both times I spelt it the same way

It's a bit disturbing that some of the sentences have typos in them already (and you have to typo it the same way to get it right)

Yank spellings, nothing wrong with them... learn to live with them
But I'd say that 400 cpm is easy when typing what you are thinking...

hrm maybe that's the problem

If I stopped to think whilst typing I'd probablyt slow right down.

They could maybe make a program where you type at free will and afterwards it checks for spelling/grammar mistakes and based on that you get your CPM. They would just need an inter-english spell check to recognise different spellings etc.

73 wpm but there was a point where (because I missed a space) i was one word behind so got a whole sentence completely red til I 'noticed

I'm down as 90wpm at one temping agency here, 110 at another
