OSP Trouple, Please Help

I haven’t played Q3 in about a year, but I really felt like a go earlier. I installed the game and the 1.27g patch and connected to a server which downloaded the OSP files. When the game started it promptly crashed as soon as I spawned and I had to restart my computer. After restarting I tried again but it still crashed, then I tried some other servers but all with the result that I appear on the level but it locks up or that a message box saying something like “quake 3.exe has performed an illegal operation….” Appears and I’m returned to my desktop.

It works fine if I try to connect to a non-OSP server, so I tried deleting the OSP files and having them download again but got exactly the same result. I also tried downloading them from oragesmoothie.com but still it crashes. I’ve since installed the 1.27h patch to see if that sorted out the problem but it hasn’t. Finally I reinstalled Q3 but still with the same results.

Anyone got any suggestions for getting it working? I’m using the Detenator 6.3 drivers with Windows ME.

Problem Solved

After many hours I finally found that OSP was finding something objectional in my cofig. I have no idea what but I just made a new config from nothing and it worked. Don't know what the problem was exactly, but it could be that the config handn't been put into action for a long time and it had something in that was no longer in the game or something like that.
