Is it just me that though No Country for Old Men was really crap and kind of finished too suddenly. I may have missed something but i though it was a poor film. Ellen Page was great in Hard Candy and good in Juno too she should have got something.

the show must have been better than the real match, eh? ;) such a lovely Getafe goal.

anyway, The Bourne Ultimatum seems to be the big winner here.

EDIT: and Eboue should have won the best actress award.

Didn't understand the charm No Country for Old Men has, thought it was a mediocre movie at best, really bad compared to for example The Assassination of Jesse James.

Really surprised however that niether Alien Versus Predator 2 or Transformers got nominated for Visual effects, yes AvP2 wasn't really a good movie but it looked great.

Well, i'm gonna say that i don't really like the oscars as year by year, it seems that the "artsy fartsy" stuff is always winning. You know, some stuck up a-hole with a pipebomb up their cornhole deciding which is deemed good.

Just like, above, transformers pissed all over the golden compass on the technicality and amount of visual effects(most of the movie isn't real!), yet golden compass probably got some "extra lotr points".

They probably dont need to. They just want to. Its entertainment you know.

But i suppose you're time is far too important for something like that.

I love movies, but the oscars - BIG FUCKING YAWN. Can't stand all that Hollywood Oscar celebrity bollocks. I don't give a flying fuck about them

Discuss the winners list ? ROFL. As if.

lol entertainment??? Always amazes me what people like to pass off as entertainment.

I wouldnt say my time is so important rather that the Oscars are not important in anyway, shape or form. A complete waste of time whichever way you try and dress it up.

I broke on of the doors of my car on the way back to home from stadium... :flame:

I agree with the fact that No Country for Old Men is overrated, but agree with Bardem that his hair cut in the movie is prolly one of the most ridiculous and weird makes up in cinema recent history (alongside with Ben Afleck's blindness in Daredevil)

Well, then why even bother replying if you dont give a damn. Not like the forum has no other threads to hang around. You dont wanna participate in a discussion? Fine by me, go ahead and move along.

Paraphrasing you:
Why should I care about you dont giving it a fuck??

Some other ppl might want to take in into a discussion about deserved or undeserved prizes and stuff.

Some ppl...

I think it's more in the form of the reply you post, not if you post about the topic, when not talking necessarily about the "given" topic.

Comparing my answer with tierks as an example.

I think tierk did a full out attack on the stupidity of the oscars and people wasting time, while i took a spesific part, in other words, the people deciding on "good movies", and how it seemed to go downhill every year.

Have to agree with ya. When was the last time an action movie or a comedy won? Always some shitty drama wins.

Movies are 90% entertainment and 10% art.

Yep, thats implicitid in the term "discuss".

"A" won this, but its just another type "X" movie, whereas "C" is a great "Y" movie and deserved a prize.
Obviously we were not getting into the whole "oh look what a marvelous piece of jewelry Jada Pinket Smith wore!!11" :)

I totally agree bud, it is overrated crap but Hollywood and the film press are going through a phase at the moment where anything ridiculously surreal gets hyped to death.

As for Ellen Page, cracking young actress and if she keeps picking these quality roles she will win a few Oscars before long.

Don't get me wrong, art movies are fun, but as far as entertainment goes, they are not really meant for it.

Anyhoo, i think hell has officially frozen over as this year, both tris- and Gorbachioo have agreed with me on something.
