Order or Destruction?

US forums seem to favor Destruction over Order and i wondered what us EU guys are heading towards. So popped up a little poll to see where people are heading.

Not sure yet. I want to play on the old DAoC player server but every guild and his dog seems to want to play dest which will destroy the server.

Voted order, because I find more classes that appeal to me there, tho theres not a great deal in it. Im hoping to hook up too in the same server as most of the ex daoc guilds. Would also favour an open rvr server but not seen any discussion on that as of yet.

I'm rolling order.

In the end however I believe there'll be a bigger faction rolling Destro, in both US and EU. Differences won't be too big though, I'm guessing 2/300 players more on destro side which leads to a 1/200 more destro players active at peak times. All should be fine I think

I still think 3 realms in DAOC is better than the 2 in WAR (order v chaos). I know it doesn't fit in with the Warhammer culture and background but I think it makes for a better realm balance over time.

true, but you might remember the discussions on the daoc freddyshouse forum after some time constantly whining that hibernia and midgard (hibgard... or was it midbernia? ) were working together to take down albion. So in the end it came down to a 2 realm system.

Ah well, 3 realms might be better indeed, but I do think 2 will be perfectly fine too (at least nobody will be whining about 'chaoder' or 'ordaos' now )

there is no way to know what actual distribution of numbers will be upon release. there is no way to tell for sure if order will outnumber or be outnumbered by destruction.

wow beta showed a majority of players playing the evil side, but on release that got reversed.

wait and see i guess.

It would be great if the realms ended up more or less even. I really don't mind unless the balance tips over too far to one side, and I guess Mythic would take some steps if that starts to happen.

I just want to get started properly and get a character I can keep and grow.

I'm planning on going for Destruction, more classes appeal to me. But I will also try Order, the Shadow Warrior mechanism sounds interesting but also Iron Breaker and Bright Wizard if they have some nice hair/beard/faces.

Most likely Order, Personally I'd think Destruction will be the overpop realm even at release but we'll see that and I like playing Order over Destruction as the classes seem to fit my playstyle better.
But not 100% sure as with the guild we already decided to run the underpop realm no matter what.

Hey guys,

We'll be going Order (under a sexy new guild name) but only one of us is in the CB and he is keeping tight lipped until the NDA lift tomorrow, so we may change our minds once we have seen some of the post-NDA info and tried out some of the classes in OB.

About the balance. An old trend is that the active fanatic (maybe older?) players tend to go for the "bad" side of a mmorpg. the-game-that-shall-not-be-mentioned had a lot more horde than alliance players during beta and on the forums before release, but in live alliance had the edge.

On the english beta servers the balance is usually around 55% destruction 45% order, on about 600 players. The days I played from morning to morning it was noticable how many of the order players logged on at about 15:00-16:00 (CET) and logged off again at about 23:00-00:00. Off peak hours destruction has an edge in the pvp. I expect this trend to continue to the live servers.
