Opinions ?

ok i played this game at my m8's house on single player mode and it rocked tbh. So i am thinking about buying it.

is it worth £35 ?
-will the price be dropping any time soon ?

isit worth me spending another £20 for one of the expansions ?
- if so which one ?

are there any other decent war games to think about buying ?

I havent played it Single Player yet, only Multiplayer online and it does indeed rock. Although I only paid a tenner for it not the full price, If I hadnt had this opportunity to do so I would of definately bought the game for the RRP.

To add more variation to this game there are Mods you can download [links at the bottom]

One Mod is called "Desert Combat" for BF1942, only started playing it a couple of weeks back, so there will be people on these forums who will be a better judge on this mod than myself but this mod for BF1942 is one of the best available to date in my opinion.

Best bet to download on broadband due to the sheer size [appox 520mb i think] and also will need the patche(s) which weigh in a hefty 200-odd-mb.

There are of course the expansions [i havent got them] so cant comment but BF1942 does have a few mods in tow, so for a variation its worth its money.

Hi,

I personally think that BF is well worth the price tag it currently has. It's a fantastic online game, and currently the one thats getting most of my attention.

The expansion packs are a little hit and miss. Road to Rome I bought, but hardly play, Secret Weapons I haven't purchased, and I dont feel the need to. They dont really add anything 'extra' to the game. Battlefield : Vietnam however is one that I will buy, because that looks awsome.

You are better off downloading and trying the mods that [StC]MorpheuS listed. They are a lot different from normal BF, so can take a bit of time to get used to. But they are fun

cheers guys, i bought it on the way home from work

gonna try out the normal game servers first and then download desert combat

its a whopping 535 mb of download so my advice is subscribe to a download website.

i went on a free download server on a 1mb con and it woulda took a day atleast i then paid £6 to subscribe to the better download servers only took 2 hours

May I direct you attention to the BF Community nights, which occur on Tuesdays (normal BF) and Wednesdays (Desert Combat). All are welcome, although priority access is given to Game.net Subscribers (and the servers do get full pretty quick).

It's such a shame there's so many smacktards on public servers. but game.net is the perfect choice for all your gaming needs. The admins are fair and are always available to deal with idiots.

Please remember advertising other GSP's isnt really the 'done thing'. I do find it slightly ironic that your website is hosted by Barrysworld - yet you dont link to them in your Links section, and you'd rather advertise an inferior GSP

You do have a point about my site not linking to BW, I will sort that ASAP, oversight on my part. For that I apologise. That many darn sites

You may consider our servers to inferior, indeed they are, however they are run by a private individual who feels the need to contribute to the community and for that we thank him.

I'm a big fan of Game that's why I subscribed to the service, I also asked for more space for my website. The time I have had my site here I have had no problems and the service has been great. If you feel the need to delete my post then please do so, I don't want to cause any problems.

I will also edit my signature so not to cause offence, just thought I was helping the community.
