Cant help you with the door, but those pnicers on the left of your screen mean that you have a bomb defuse kit.

OK, when in CS do you ever need to open locked doors??

Isnt that bit of training a bit pointless?

Theres probably a button he has to press somewhere....teaching him how to open doors that dont just open when you walk into them :)

In the training mission, all the doors open without you having to touch them - try some other doors, explore, all the usual things.

Just kill people!!! aarrrrgggghhhhh

How many people actually did this training stuff?? When i started playing cs i jumped straight into the servers, took me about a week to work out which uniforms were ts and which were cts (ff on, many annoyed team m8s) ;) Maybe took me a month to know what i was doing, properly doing that is.

Sod the training maps, just get on the servers and start playing, only way you are going to get good.

Austin_Powers New personal best. 17-13

Only door I can remember in CS which doesnt open when you walk into it is in de_prodigy.

You have to walk into the panel to activate the door.

Another piece of trivial information

 This is exactly why new players should do the training missions, why do you think other players shout at you and call u and damned newbie? Its because you shoot the wrong team, cant defuse ro plant the bomb or rescue hostages. Hell you probably even spam asking for help when u could just go and read the readme, or try and actually set your controls up.

Until now the training mission has only been in the retail cs, other newbies have had to try and figure things out quickly or suffer the wrath of the server (you may not agree with it, but newbies get flamed, fact). The new version of cs1.3 when it arrives, from what I have seen has the training missions included for everyone. Should put an end to some of the newbie abuse going on.

Whenever i get something new i personally hate reading instructions/manuals or in this case run through the training maps. I don't think there were training maps when i started playing CS (beta 7) and i soon got the hang of things anyway.

Yes it is a good thing to have these new training maps. however, its all very well people knowing how to plant/defuse bombs etc. But what good is it if you can't last more than 30 secs in the game because you keep getting killed? I think it is was more frustrating getting killed all the time than not knowing how to escort hostages!?

I just think you are better off learning the stuff they teach you on the training maps while you are on the servers; at the same time as you are learning fighting techniques.

People who give newbies a hard time are fools anyway, just try to ignore them

Just my opinion

Austin_Powers "Damned Newbie" :(

You know you love me really

Worth learning on the server?

Its an online game, its not a single player thing. People do like or not get very annoyed with players that are clueless.

Personally I dont care if they can shoot for shit or die instalnlty, I do care if tehy say have the bomb and dont leave the base, or cant plant the damn thing or they shoot it instead of defusing it. THese things are frustrating for every other player on the server, learning to shoot and kill obviously has to be done on line.

TBH discourging players from doing teh training missions and telling them to just learn it all online is a little irresponsible. It will annoy many a person and get the actually newbie flamed quite heavily, which I am sure they wont enjoy.

I'll tell you how i learnt to defuse the bomb: i was the last CT and being a newbie i didn't know what to do once i had got to the bomb, i shot at it, jumped on it, stabbed it i think i would have pissed on it if i could have.... in the end time ran out and the thing blew me up.

At re-spawn all my teams mates were typing stuff like "use the use key to defuse the bomb you dick" " you have to press the bloody use key" etc etc Someone might have even told me nicely.... there are some nice people out there!!

Anyway, that is how i leant to defuse the bomb. ;)
You have to learn fast

Anyway, enough of this joyful banter.

I'm sure it took me a couple of months to figure out how to diffuse the bomb.

First I had to learn to live long enough to get to it :) now that ws the hard bit.
