Does this Holocron just appear in your inventory? If not, how can you claim it? Do you have to be a current subscriber to get it? What if you resubscribe like, er, now? :)

I will create a character on Farstar and Chimera and will trade a holo on these servers for a holo on eclipse?
Anyone (or two people) willing to create an alt on eclipse so i dont have to go pistolwhiping all the the "force crystal hunters" again for my 3rd and 4th holo??

have a char on eclipse (as many of u may have noticed:) ), and i can trade with u for a holo on Farstar

Edit: this gift will make ppl unlock FSS's in numbers of thousands :p

That would be a bit easy if you could just create a char a day before they go give out the presents..
at UO it was like this with the presents. you character had to be at least such and so old in order to get your special present. wouldnt be surprised if they used the same method here ;)

well if any1 have "old" chars on eclipse and FarStar and wants and extra holo on eclipse, contact me, or post here :) well, we will see how they do it :)

have an "old" char on eclipse to u kow ;)

Well I hope the Dev's realize that people use that trick to get 10 or so Holos and make the bloody things no-trade items.

i already have an alt on farstar an chimeara, and have had them for a while, so i will have at least 2 unused holo's that will only goto waste

Tnina' gets the Holo on farstar :)
Will contact you soon as santa delivers :)

I'd expect (and hope) they make it 1 holo per account or only give holos to characters created before the friday announcement.

that u could sell it if u didnt want it :)

They wont make them untradeable, they will just make sure that one person cant loot 10 of them and sell them for 5 mil each.

The problem with making it one holo per account is that if you have multiple chars, it might get given to a char you dont want to have it.

Then maybe make a command like /gifvHoloz that you could use only once. If you use it on your alt then thats the character whos going to get the Holo and not the main one.

Next week, your character will be receiving a special gift in game, a Jedi Holocron. For you who aren't interested in gaining a clue towards your path to the Force, you can always sell it. Be warned, the market for them may drop considerably for a little while.


i will have one on eclipse i will be willing to swap for a holo on farstar

im on holiday atm though so wont be till mid of january if anyone is still interested by then

I think they're doing it deliberately to destroy the market in holocrons and to stop the l33t combat classes camping the holo-drop mobs 24/7.

The market will flood with them, they won't try and stop people getting hold of multiple crons on fresh characters and server-swapping them and there'll be a large increase in the number of jedi.

I think it's great :)

Hopefully it'll settle the economy a bit and hopefully it'll make SOE get round to making Jedi actually playable and worth having :) Only real problem I forsee is that the prices of crystals and Krayt pearls will go through the roof since there'll be so many more people needing them :/

Oh and I'll have 2 spare holocrons on both Chimaera and Farstar if anyone wants to trade with a couple on Eclipse :)

Actually it would upset economy really badly.

Someone grinds to Master Architecht just for Holo and with unlimited cash (~5M) he can do it in one day. Guess what happens to the statues and harvester he makes?

Thats right. In the bazaar for 1k-3k.

Doctors buffing for free because its great and super fast way to grind to master. Who wants to pay for it anyway?

Droid Engineers and Chefs with their allready limited market will have to deal with people who just want to dump their grinding wastes for little or no profit.

Smugglers actually PAYING people to let them slice stuff and spices going for extremely low prices.

Resource prices will raise slightly as most of the haulers realize that the massive grinding takes resources and the people doing it can and will pay to get to Master ASAP.

Weapon and Armosmiths can be grinded with products you cant really sell BUT guess what the people need who got combat prof. from their Holos? Guns and Armor sales boost up slightly and that means tiny change in the prices too. Again resource haulers see this happening and raise the cpu.

Ok so not everyone will take a peek what the unholy cube has to offer. Holo prices will raise to 500k'ish fairly fast and when the newbie-lowbie finally sells the damn thing he has enought money to skip the low end crafters and go straight to the better ones.
Who gives a crap if you make budget friendly stuff when everyone and their dog has big piles of credits.

With all the grinding its fairly easy to say that the Jedi population triples/quadruples during the next few months. I have nothing against the Jedi but people like I BuyRareStuff (or something like that, actual Jedi from Eclipse) seriously break the suspension of disbelief. (less people like that if its actually hard to get to Jedi)

The world as we know it will come to an end. Servers will crash and half of the Dev's will resign.
Monthly fee will skyrocket and we are left with empty servers! Repent! The time is near!
REPENT!

this made me laff so hard.....

its been proven with thousands of other MMORPG's this wont affect the price at all, fair enough it will lower a little..but those with money will bulk buy and those without will sell, its just a short term transfer of wealth.. personally i dont give a rats ass about being a freekin jedi..nor do i want to spoil my game by getting hints..im sure 7 years down the line i may have finally opened a slot..but it will be by my own good fortunes rather than paying a few mil for a piece of pixelated crap... i shall sell mine so i can buy better weapons and mayber some vechiles.. who knows but i shall enjoy this gift wholeheartedly.

That proves one of my points. You will buy better weapons.
Now this means you skip the 10 point experimentation weapons and go straight to 12 point or Krayt weapons.

hmm I really hope they limit it to 1 per account.. else you get to see a gazillion holos around.. what would be the fun in that?

about jedis.. i cant give a rats ass about being jedi or not.. but if everyone can get their paws on plenty of holo's.. then why not just drop all the holos totally from the game and tell them right at char creation what skills to master as hint.. ( now that would be sucky as hell, but in the end it will be just the same as everyone is allowed to get holo on every server on ever char which ofcourse get servertraded)

So .. vote for 1 holo a char :).. not going to make a jedi anyway. so im going to give mine away ( thats right, give, not sell :p )

on the other hand.. if the jedi population increases. it means my twinky BH on chim will start speccing the investigation tree to hopefully 'meet' some jedis :) mwuahhaahhaa

Il happily trade with u on eclipse for a holo on FarStar :)

btw, i dont intend to use them straight away, just keep them incase i feel like using them one day :), and maybe place them in my house to anoy those holo hunters :)

I wonder how many will read there's straight away. I for one will wait til i master my 2 latest dabbles (commando and smuggler) before reading it. I'll get the hump if it says master one of those 2 which in all fairness is what 1/16 chance?

For anyone that doesn't know, only characters older than 3 weeks will get a holo.
