On my own...

So, today was the day - moved out of the safe nest of my parrents house - my own appartment (sitting in the dark..with no furniture (sp?) except a old chair and a desk for my PC) . this is great, no more nagging, no more "do this...do that..NOW". finaly freedom.

so how was it when you moved out?

When I left home the first time I moved into a house with 2 brothers who were mates of mine and basically got hammered for 12 months. People around every weekend, parties, clubbing, raves. It was ace

I can do that at my parents home but not where I live now I don't think my hirer (?) or my roommate (who is actually their daughter) would like it so much ^^ Well ok, I got a room in the house itself, but it has advantages =)

Well first time I moved out it was quite easy going though. The apartment was totally shit though and I moved rather quickly again. Lived with a good friend from school for a year then before I swiched university and ofc my home along with it =)

Good thing is I can still carry my clothes home for washing ^^

First thing I did when I got my own house - got the fridge set up - went to the offy and bought a load of beer and filled the fridge from top to bottom with it - and 1 pint of milk... and got the lads round and got slaughtered...was a long weekend

not sure if you can call going to uni leaving home... but I lived with people and I love it. Not sure I could cope with living alone, I'm too social

When i finally got my first apartment, i spent the whole night staring at the wall, wondering what the f*ck am i doing.

Things worked out, well slightly, in the end and things just clicked into place, but that first night sitting on an old leather couch watching the wall...must have been the loneliest time of my life.

so how was it when you moved out?

For a couple of weeks it was a shock to the system if I am being truthful about it, I felt a bit lost and lonely but that feeling quickly passes and then your really get addicted to the freedom of being the boss of your own home. Sadly though you never get over the loss of your mum's home cooked meals, having your laundry done for you and being waited on hand and foot. That is part of growing up though.

I live at uni (not the same thing i know) but i like it and don't i hate doing the washing as i have to wait two hours, whilst it washs, i hate cooking, i have to stand in the kitchen whilst it cooks, ultimately i miss home..

I got chucked out by my stepmum when I was 17 cos she thought I was trying to kill her (no, really). I moved into a tiny bedsit but it was my first taste in freedom and I absolutely loved it. Friends could come round and visit, I could watch TV (parents were a bit draconian so TV was a no-no) I could eat what I wanted rather than rye bread, soya milk and tofu (again, parents were a bit odd) and I had time to myself - a bit of peace and quiet.

Was one of the best times of my life.

it was a bit overwhelming (like Naeth i was only ikkle 17 year old) but i quite liked it, screwed up with the rent a few times, had to move out of places hastely before landlord could catch me etc etc lol but once i got my money sorted and got my shit together i was fine, tbh unless your home life is crap i wouldnt recommend moving out at 17 its way too young imo.

but then you get your freedom which rocks

One of the more sobering things when you move out from your parents is when you get all your worldly possessions into the back of a Peugeot 106.

I'm now moving house again 7 years later, and I've got a hell of a lot more stuff

the only issue i think i will have about moving is my sense of direction.

no doubt i will need to move citys when i finish uni. living here for 20 yrs i still get lost might have to buy a sat nav shenanigans.

C'mon it has some good sides aswell =) You even get rid of addictions like DAoC or so ^^ Think since I moved to my new university (and ofc changed home aswell) I'm playing the most relaxed style ever Like log in to see what it's like, solo a bit on BM, farm some money with SM and then procede to level my chars on Avalon =)
