PLEASE!!! Someone tell me they've had the same reaction!!

Just downloaded that Doom 3 promo video and had a quick gander (which, frankly, looks great on 3 bottles of wine :) )

The first thing that came into my head, including the "that looks really kewl" thing is:


John Carmack (and all his staff) is the BIGGEST GEEK OF ALL TIME....



Sorry, but I've been playing games since 1980 when my mum bought me the then cutting-edge Vic20.

I was proud of it's 3.5k of RAM and 8 (count em'!) colours.

I had a SIXTEEN KILOBYTE ram expansion pack bought for the princely sum of FIFTY POUNDS (in 1980 too!!).

I thought I was fantastic, as my C64 years (the best ever) flashed past me.

The Amiga ruled.....

Little did I know, that upon viewing a video of JC, purveyor of some of the finest vomit-inducing action known to man, I'd begin to realise what I am...


PLEASE - someone put me out of my misery.

Even TR was a cock...!



Game looks kewl tho ;)


(apart from the fire effects - which I think suck)


BTW - I've got 5 litres of wine I HAVE to get through tonight - and the cats won't help.

Id like to be a geek if I could spend all day designing game engines like JC. Truth is theres always a price to pay and geekhood is his.

dont actually view the page much these days. coz I live out here now, find that latest tech news doesnt have any consequence out here. thus my days are limited to NZ, BW forums and the helicopter game :p
