I have uploaded two maps to Tribes2Maps.com.

both maps are based off of the basic terrain found at Omaha Beach on dday.

OmahaBeach can be found under C&H maps

OmagaSiege is a siege variation of the map

both are a lot of fun and I recommend trying them out and letting me know any feedback.

Thanks,

It's way to big, and if was played online I could see the allies becoming bored of crossing the sea + the axis will just launch attacks against the allies bases and bog them down

its not that far and thats kind of the whole point, the allies had to come over on transports..

this isn't an easy mission and there is a lot of strategy involved in beating it, it might take a while to figure out what works best for you, but trust me, get a bunch of people in there and it gets wild.

Also, this map is more for the hardcore players and not for the guys who are just having fun. I designed the map specifically for large scale team war like the original Omaha Beach invasion must have been.

If you want to solo the mission you should get a blaster and a cloaking pack and you can generally beat it without dying too many times.

I have beaten the siege map in 30:18.96 which is about a good half hour game, that seems about right size to me.

Also, this map is one of the first I have ever played on that actually favors the spotter/heavy (or tank) combo. That wasn't necessarily by design but thats how it worked out and I LIKE IT!

It is nice to park a tank about 250 m off of charlie and cloak in and spot the sensor for your buddy who then drops a ton of mortar fire into their bunkers. This map is all about teamwork so it may be more suited to clan matches than pub play.

I guess I should put in some force fields at the allies base to prevent the counterattack, but that can be done quickly.

I have done a couple passes with the terrain editor and smoothed out a bunch of stuff and i have been trying (unsuccessfully) so far to try and get the bots smarter. Once i do this I will add the force fields any other suggestions?

Heh, so basically you're advocating a map that isn't fun. Sure, I'll put it at the top of my download list :p

no i never said it wasn't fun, it is a LOT of fun, it is just not a cakewalk to win the mission, you have to know some strategies like how to use cloak packs, laser spotters, and teamwork. Which I personally find more fun than a 64 person deathmatch, which is what most pub games are. That is all. Try it, you are going to like it...

I can see where you were going with this stuff but I think tbh the maps are just a little *too* heavily defended and far too complicated to use practically in a game.
I tried to beat the seige map and gave up (bored sorry) after 30mins of dinking gens and then testing to see what forcefields had gone down.
Im totally up for heavily defended maps that require teamplay in the extreme to beat them, I have no problem with that, but there's a fine line between a job that needs to be done and a chore to be endured. Sorry to be so negative, nice try though :)

On a side note if U do future versions, on the siege map I'd make the attacking sides base far more heavily defended - if the nme decide to launch a pre-emptive strike that vehicle base will fall in seconds and the attackers will have no hope of getting back in the game with such a solid base attacking them...

OK, thanks for all your input, I completely revamped the mission taking into consideration all of your suggestions. Let me know what you think...

also, make sure to read the OmahaSiegeReadMe.txt to get hints, tips, and instructions on how to beat the mission. I think once you do it a couple times you will see this mission has a lot of potential and lots of strategy that you didn't even know was there. I know I find all kinds of new things and surprises I didn't even expect when building it everytime I play it.
