Anyone else watching the voting? Working at home today so got the chance to and my god do they make it long winded, took them 20 minutes to just do the test vote and they have to read every rule of the voting process very very slowly just in case the people forgot what there god damn job is

yes, although i will be moving from my current flat which is 100 meters from the proposed site of the olympic stadium in 3 weeks (not that i would be there in 7 years time anyway)

but hell, i'd love the olympics on my doorstep, not to mention the major boost to the East London economy (and culture and facilities) which is well overdue.

I live in Manchester and the commonwealth games were great fun so I'm sure the olympics will be more so.

I lived in South Woodford for a couple of years and I remember what Stratford used to look like 10 years ago. The redevelopment for the games will be the icing on the cake.

If we win it will piss off the french. For no other reason I'd want us to win!

Turns out that London only just beat Madrid by 2 votes in the 3rd round to avoid getting knocked out, and only beat Paris by 4 votes in the final vote.

Do love how the Madrid crowd cheared when London won.

Am so glad it is coming to London.

At least in my lifetime my place of birth will host the games and I can be part of the culture that gave the bird to that french ****.

I don't like the French, never have done, never will. Christ, they never thanked us for liberating them, they claim they did it themselves. Personally shoulda left them to Germany as a loser's prize.
