Went out last night with a bunch of peeps that I didn't get on with at school some 25 years ago. Was apprehensive and tbfh I was surprised. Tar a brush and all that - nope, they were kewl. Although I resented their taste in music and their bars they went to, who the fuck at my age wants to go clubbing and then just sit there and enjoy crap music? I want to talk to these peeps ffs. What little I did get out of them made me think that I want to see them again. Beats the shit out of standing at a bar and saying nothing all night and arite lah how's it going and then the conversation ends.

The thing I noticed most was the change, ok, they weren't as rounded as I (and yeah I can say that after seeing more shit at my age than an average joe would have seen in his whole life time) and it was like, actually, why didn't I get on with these people at school? Still wondering now, great night. Hope to do it again soon :)

Guess I got past my sell by date, I enjoy pubs too much. Ok some of them close too early. Some are just down right annoying, but you get over that and find the good ones. Love places where I can talk to people over a beer or 3. Clubs to me are magnets ie they got babes and I am attracted to em but always go alone. Meaning I mean business if I go. But for me, like Ez, nowt like a good place, doesn't matter where, just need a good place to talk and laugh - that's enough for me :)

All my friends at school were a year above me and im still best friends with them to this day (we grew up together etc).

Of the people in my own year I cant say I liked any of them. Most of them were bullies and I always got in fights with them sticking up for the lesser guy. Maybe theyve changed but I wouldnt want to find out tbh. I wont be going on any reunion thingy thats for sure :)

Most of my closest friends now are the ones i grew up with. I went to a reunion back in February with people who lived on the same estate as me growing up, it was a great evening, even my ex who i hadnt seen for 10 yrs turned up and i didnt recognise her..lol

We are doing it again at the end of July cos the ones who never came in Feb realised they missed out

Also i think you realise as you get older that sometimes its not just the other people who were assholes, it just as much yourself too

I aint big on renunions. I am more of a face to face talk person. I am not good with groups of people, I like to get to know the bone of a person and her/his brain and how they tick before I decide whether or not they are a good/bad person and I want to know them. I find a group thing is that people tend to orientate to a certain way of thinking and you really won't get to know who they are. Not for me ty. If I say 'hi' to someone. I am letting them know I mean it because I know them. Else I am just being polite for polite sake and imo that's sychopantic for the sake of being that way.

But last night there was like 6 of us and I can deal with that. Was nice xD

Old school friends are a large part of the reason I haven't joined the Cult of Facebook. I didn't like the majority of my "friends" at school and the brief flirtation I had with FriendsReunited just underlined why I didn't like them.
No I don't want to know about your house, children or job.

One of the few friends that I did stay in touch with as told me that a number of people have asked about me on Facebook. They remember that I was a tech-head and find it strange that I'm not there.

My opinion is along the lines of "I didn't like you then. What makes you think anything has changed in the last 20 years?"

I made a few friends on FB that were old scholl friends, but have recently had a bit of a cull, i have deleted about 10 people that i have never spoke to since i left school. so whats the point

I get friend requests all the time that i ignore cos they are people i dont really know, where as other mates have 200+ friends who they only really talk to 1/4 of

I've seen old school folk maybe once-twice in 15 years and that was only due to proxy via my bro.

Don't keep up with them really, then again i wasn't social in school, mostly due to being short, thin and #1 bully target. Go nerds :p

Therse days my aquintance numbers are rather big(30 ish?), friends maybe...4-5...friends i keep in touch with atleast once in 3 days are at a solid 1. True friends that is.

It's mostly due to me not being very communication active, so if someone doesn't contact me, i don't contact them. Not out of vengeance, just slips the mind. Those that keep poking me, usually stick around.

About clubs/pubs, well, i do like to go to a club now and then, more of a movie setting if any, with friends it's better to pub it though. Luckily metal places around here are semi-club, semi-pub so the music isn't blasting adn you can't talk, while the larger still hold the club style.
