Old Player new problems

Can anyone tell me, I bought the retail version of CS and I cant get my console to work. And the other games such as firearms, Redemtion, Wanted, etc, wont work. I get the message your cl_dll files differ from the servers. HELP!

Okay to activate the console u need to use the "-console" line in your CS command line.

You will also need the various fixes for the retail version of cs, map packs, name fixes and some bug fixes.

try at www.nextwish.org near the bottom of the right hand frame.

Been a while since i bothered with the retail version, if i remeber correctly others have had this problem recently search for the thread. The dll this I am not sure about, I do know to play tfc u need a patch, maybe its related to that?

Also to get back your console you can put

bind "`" "toggleconsole"

In your config.cfg

also, edit your config.cfg (in the cstrike folder) and change console "0.00000" to "1.00000"

Stupid games anyway

Thank all for the help, I have change the target command line with "-console" and have the bind "~" Toggleconsole and have changed the setting in the config.cfg file from 0.0000 to 1.0000, but for some stupid reason it resets to 0.0000 whenever I go back and enter the game, because the console is not active, maybe ghost in the machine? Thanks Z

write protect your config.cfg, this will mean that no changes can be made to the file.

BUT it means u cant change controls etc from within cs until u un-write protect it.

or of course, also edit the config.cfg in the half-life folder as well (counterstrike folder for you I think)

Or better still, bung em all in an
autoexec.cfg in the cstrike folder
and add
echo "My config"
into it, that way u know that the script has been run cos it'll be shown when u join the game.
