World's Oldest Man Dies in Japan at 114

TOKYO (Sept. 29) - The world's oldest man, retired Japanese silkworm breeder Yukichi Chuganji, died in his home at the age of 114, local government officials said on Monday.

Family members found him dead in his futon sleeping mattress on Sunday evening, the officials on the southern island of Kyushu said.

Born on March 23, 1889, Chuganji worked as a silkworm breeder and bank employee after leaving school. He also served as a community welfare officer.

He had been in good health, talking daily with his daughter's family with whom he lived, but had not ventured from his bed very often in recent years and had poor eyesight.

With Chuganji's death, Kameni Nakamura becomes Japan's oldest man at 108. It was not immediately known whether he had inherited the mantle of world's oldest man.

Poor guy, hope he lived a happy life!

Last couple of years can't have been that much fun. Being bed ridden and half blind is a bit sucky.

Assuming he could remember most of it. Hell, I've lived for almost 1/4 of a century and I can only remember 1/8760 of it. :p

Just imagine a 100 years from now:

The worlds oldest man passed away this morning at the age of 137. Born in Korea, Aritoma Habajiko left behind 73 EQ accounts filled with fully leveled characters and is considered the worlds richest man(if he sold the accounts on EBay).

"We will sell the accounts on Ebay and build a memorial museum for Mr. Habajiko." . stated the goverment officials.

Arimato Habajiko was estimated to have used 98 years of his life on playing EQ.

I know a guy who's 99 years old, still fully mobile, full head of hair(long and white, looks the spit of Gandalf), got all his faculties, still drives (drove from Cornwall to see us last month, hogs the outside lane foot to the floor).
He actually tells cool stories about his youth, he sold 2 motorbikes and set off round Europe in an open-top sports car with his mate and 30 quid.
So I says 'Did you see any tanks lying round from the war'

He says ' Oh no this was 1933, before the war' :)

Highest Fall Survived Without A Parachute
Vesna Vulovic, a flight attendant from Yugoslavia, survived a fall from 10,160 m (33,330 ft) when the DC-9 airplane she was traveling in blew up over Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic), on January 26, 1972. A terrorist bomb was thought to be the cause, and no other passengers survived. Vesna broke both legs and was temporarily paralyzed from the waist down.
