This really is as general as it gets, but looking for advice.

In the garage I have a 1975 Kawasaki H500, which for those who dont no was the dogs bollocks at the time.

Its about 90% complete/original but I havent taken her out in 6 years. I want to sell it and am willing to take anything for it just to get rid of it. But what should I advertise it for..anyone know what its worth???

I dare say that Throddy will have Glasses Guide, they are mainly a car price guide, but I am sure they do one for motorbikes......I think yours may be too old to be in it though:(

Judging by your complaint in the other thread I kinda find myself wishing you'd hit it harder.

You could get a copy of Bike Trader (any newsagents) and look for the same bike, that should give you some idea. The age of a bike does not have as much impact on the price as the mileage and general condition. Otherwise Throds ya man.

edit/ If it was mine I'd do the extra 10% and get it on the road. That way I could keep it and enjoy it or get more for it when selling.

Ok Ok stand back, im here !
Actually, KH500, as Im pretty sure the bike is, may be worth a few quid m8, but its really the condition that's important.
First thing, is it actually a KH500, or is it an H1 ? There IS a difference, the earlier H1 is the more sought after bike, seeing as how it was more powerfull and more dangerous. The later KH was detuned some, and thus has a less fearsome reputation.
I wouldn't bother too much with Motorcycle News, they are quite firmly in the late bike market. Bike Trader might be a better idea, though even then there's not a big call for older stuff.
What you really want is a Kawasaki owners magazine, or a classic bike magazine. That would be the place to advertise. Buy a couple and see what stuff is making. Personally I would have though a KH500 would be about £1000 if its all working, and an H1 maybe £1400 or £1500. However , the proviso is it must be original, and in working order. Non standard bits only decrease the value. Also you have to find someoen who wants to buy it, its a bit of a collectors item really.
I had a GT750 kettle a few years ago, all original and lovely. I had so many messers come and see it , it got scary. One of them tasted the anti-freeze to see if it was original ! I got the hump and sold it for £1400 in the end, just to get shot of it ! O well ...
