Ok, so who the hell is 'Emgrin' ??

Ok, I feel this needs a thread of its own.

I refer to the current ongoing discussion about the English National Team for the TWC.

Without wishing to sound too sad, I was playing Tribes long before the UK ever heard of it, I've watched sites come and go, leagues come and go, people come and go... you get the picture.. but I have NEVER even seen this Emgrin fellow.

Does he/she post to the regular European Tribes UBB's ? no. Does Emgrin get involved in IRC discussions? not that I've seen. Does Emgrin play regularly on the public servers? again, I can't claim to have seen him/her.

So, I ask you, WHO THE HELL IS Emgrin ??

And What in the name of Assorted Tasty Snacks is someone who no-one knows being made the leader of the English national Tribes squad ??

Hello, am I the only one who finds this strange??

If this is to be the way forward, I hereby declare that I am the Tribe leader for Portugal. No, I can't speak Portuguese. No, I've never been there. No, I haven't ever been affiliated with any Portuguese players or leagues. But, on the grounds that Emgrin is now our national Tribes captain, does it matter??

I never have seen him on a server, in all the time I've been playing tribes (over 1 year) i guess he probobly plays renegades or something :E

Heres a couple of things though:

1) He has never played for or been in a tribe, though he nearly got in 'Chaos' once - anyone know who they are?

2) He is 14 years old

Sound like the right 'specifications' of the national captian?

I am not a tribes player per se but i did have a keen interest in the game at once (as part of McM and DS) and act as a liasion between the UKTL and BarrysWorld.

I would have thought that the person to "lead" any team would have to have a combination of skill and decent organisational skills. I often found myself leading Scotland in QW as i was one of the most experienced players (in terms of time playing and adminning) and also because i could be bothered to do it (which a lot of people couldn't).

I for one would have expected somebody very well known to take this role, at the very least somebody i had heard of. I am not saying somebody should be picked simply because they are a big name/ego, but for any team to respect their leader (and therefore function effectively) it has to be somebody with a wealth of experience playing and dealing at the highest level in Tribes, otherwise you will struggle to get anywhere.

I have no idea who this bloke is, and have never heard of him. I don't care if he volunteered, its like the reasoning i apply to the OGA. Just because no-one else is doing it doesn't mean that your the right person to do it.

Never heard of this d00d. Seem's bloody stupid the way the situation is being handled aswell. I don't see why the Celtic and French teams can have well know players as there organisers (Zenith and niCo) and we get left with some unknown individual who will probably field a team that have only ever played the game for 2 hours. He's 14 too! This is outrageous.

Emgrin has been removed as organizer for the "TWC England" team. Guess that will end this thread.
