just wondering how many guilds out there have some form of process.. to handle complaints/comments/compliments...

why i want to know... i came from a game and squad where we had a fairly tight and strict 'regime', and we all enjoyed it.. i mean we weren't ever like 'omg this is so nazi'.. our reputation was top notch, we had great activity and we worked well and 'owned' well..
if someone was to notify an officer or so of some unbecoming behaviour, it was attended to.. every single time, you were spoken to, and the problem resolved in some manner

but coming to an mmorpg, it seems this isnt the case, and all too easily people will forgive and forget a lot more easily, a lot worse things, simply because of (i believe), the lack of new players coming in, the want/need for certain players due to their 'uberness' and whatever.

i always do try to contact a GM or suchlike if someone shows bad form from a guild.. wondering if this is the same for most guilds?

seen a cpl of issues brought to my attention , always tried to resolve it in the best way , always been the way in DA , if ppl have a problem with any DA for any reason , all they have to do is to pm an officer/gmand hav a chat > we have made enough gm's officers for one to be on at alltimes to deal with it

but i see what ya mean tzee > boredom an all :)

nova i mean..

say if someone was to say something really low to another person in game.. probably something personal.. ok, and then offended person tells GM..
GM says wtf. ok, i'll talk to him

accused guy gives his side of the story and isnt sorry at all even if he is guilty as sin

gm thinks what to do

gm says .. hm, dont want to kick level 50 guy who does so much for guild... and then goes on to tell offended person he apologised and wont do it again

things like that..
i mean, where a character is a commodity also.. level 50 being more sought after than a level 4.. wondering what'd happen

good point !

but then if ya lvl 50 respected his guild he wouldnt do it or would try to resolve it , if they dont they prolly dont respect your guild and therefore wouldnt be a great loss :)

i dunno what i just typed , hope it was relativley what i was trying to say

yup, thats the thing.. all too often there can be a twat in some guild, but omg! he's level 50, and he is a <insert wanted class>, and has <insert RR>, and even if people complain about this guy over a period of months, maybe one incident a week or whatever, im wondering if any GMs out there would actually just say.. right, thats it, FO and kick him

Well, sometimes it's real hard. accusing guy says this an ofc swear it's true. Then the accused guy says something completly different and from this point of view his actions seems reasonibly. and ofc, also he swears that this is what actually happened.

You will prolly know the accused guy better. And if it's word against word I tend to trust my friends... But if my "friend" start a pattern like this I hope I will se it clearly the third or fourth time.

Third party feedback on people is a bad thing to act upon immediately imo. If someone comes to me complaining about a member of Chosen i would always believe my guild member first. Unless of course this is not the first complaint about that member.

As a GM i think the feedback on how people in your guild behave is vital tool to be able maintain a good reputation in the realm but i probably wouldnt act on one complaint a person. Two complaints is another story. I would probably keep a close eye on somebody if i received a complaint though. If a guild member was found to be guilty as charged then i would ask them to apologise in person. If they would not do this then they would be booted regardless of level.

Well personally i would not like it if someone had an issue with me and would run straight to my GM without even trying to solve things with me but that's only because i think people should try to solve problems between them without a 3rd party (meaning a GM or BW or what/who ever).

So i always try to talk to the person i encounter probs with and if he does not respond/does not speak good english or is unreasonable i will speak to their GM about the issue. Mainly because imho a whole guild should not be punished for the actions of only one person and also because i hope to prevent others from getting troubles with that person too.

Since i started playing i only experienced one unreasonale GM that would not even listen to my story about one of his members who would not hand out a drop to another player which he got from an XP hunt while his class could not even use it. This guild was on my s***tlist for a while but after i met some really nice and skilled people of the same guild i thought it was not fair of me to do this so i deceided to group with them again. Most of the GM's are very friendly and very helpfull when u need them.

As for not booting a level 50 that has behaved "badly", like Censi said: i think everyone deserves a second chance so if the GM talked to this person i think he should get another chance. But if this player behaved badly several times and is only nice to the people of his own guild he should be booted imho.

Cause imho beeing 50 does not give u any right to misbehave to others at any time. You really are not more/better then anyone else on the server.
