OK so corp options

OK so having messed around in low sec with Peewits I have also been applying to corps in 0.0 and low sec.

One alliance I am currently looking at is Hedonistic Imperative they are a drug cartel that do a bit of roleplaying on the side. I fancy this because it avoids power bloc politics. It is also the crooked path. In other words its not something people do a lot of and I have a feeling it would be good fun to do something that doesn't involve straight forward shooting. - I dunno. At this stage I am in the middle of discussing this with some of the people involved.

Another option is a very PvP heavy corp that are right in the middle of the power bloc politics (ain't saying who just yet).

What I want to do is make sure I am involved in both industrial and non industrial aspects of a corp. I have discovered that eve is not a good game if you only play for PvP. It is much more enjoyable if you get into building infrastructure and helping with the logistics side of an operation.

I think thats the mistake I have made this far - so I am going to try and get much more involved in that side of things from now on.

What would you do?

Weren't Ees & Whizz one of the main pos exploiters? As in the drugs wouldn't have broken even if they didn't have a flow of isk coming in from the bug.

The CEO of EE's and Whiiz was the only person banned. As for drugs - the production of drugs looks challenging. I have been researching it for some time. Part of the problem is a shortage of supply and the complexity of the reactions. Like I said it is something I have been looking at.

I thought the interesting bit was that the drugs manufacturing business in eve was operating at a loss unless you count peoples time as 0 - I think its an area that CCP may want to look at in the future in terms of cost / complexity.

Drug manufacturing is not worth it, I looked in to some production in the lower Geminate area as you can find some of the light gases in a constellation close to there. Numbers didn't crunch very well, you would always have an operating loss, managing the POS and looking even at the Forge market, they don't sell that well.

Exploration and invention is the way to go for small operations imo. I made a buck out of it before the interfaces and decryptors spawned more frequent. (4x Cryptic ship interfaces for 500mill a pop). I know taB made alot of ISK this way aswell.

Wormhole exploration for t3 components will be the next new thing. Get your alt maxed out in exploration and you'll be fit to go.

You should atleast join some corp that's fairly well structured and run corp gangs at set intervalls. Good promotion and badly organized corps kinda suck. Also depends if there's room for private venture. I know markets are pretty much regulated by the alliance in certain space.

Medium size corp and alliances not involved in the big power struggles seem to be a more favourable option imo. Dunno if there is this kinda of place in EVE though.

Currently Tech 3 is a bit of an anti-climax - it looks like it will go out in a pre-nerfed state with not amazing ship stats and a very high price tag - there better be some completely amazing sub-systems available or theres a danger it will flop and just be an oddity for rich collectors.

Still if you get in early you may be able to sell tech3 components at a high price for a while before people cotton on :)

Personally I'm mass producing probes to seed the furthest reaches of hi-sec as I expect massive initial demand for them as every man and his dog become explorers till the novelty and the horrors of the new probing ui take their inevitable toll...

Errr, isn't the whole probing system changing to not use the same probe types / launchers as before?

Might be wrong.

Thats correct - I am making the cheapest old style probes that will magically get converted to core probes come Apocrypha.

Re: Power Blocs and 0.0

it won't happen, don't kid yourself. Everyone who plans to hold 0.0 now needs friends. This means picking a side I guess. You may not even realise that you picked a side until you find out who your "friends" have blued.

There's very few "neutral" corps in Eve these days as most small independant "no blues" alliances have been chewed up and spat out by the big boys during one of their "Max" or "need moar dysprosium" expansions.

I would decide upon what you wish to do (which it looks like you've got a good handle on). You need to be aware of the downsides to having infastructure in space. It needs looking after (well, duh!) which means it can be exploited by mean and ebil pvpers who wish to force a fat juicy carebear alliance into fighting.

Foe/Puppet Masters did that in D4ku just the other night. Reinforced a Jump bridge pos and forced their carebear neighbours to try and defend it resulting in lots of juicy fat kills for the pvpers and a really enjoyable fight (for us, I'd suspect our opponents would have a different perspective on how enjoyable it was).

This is the danger of 0.0 life. If you want to keep what you've got then expect to have to defend it. If you can't you need to find friends who can, they will come with baggage and before you know it you will be on a side.

My advice would be to pick someone in the North if you want a no hassles and more industrial game. Whilst I dislike the way MM/RzR play the game their space is relatively safe and you will be able to rp/industrial your arse off up in there in peace and quiet.

I would keep bpos in empire and copy them and move bpc's to the north. Keep nothing in Conquerable stations that you can't afford to lose and try not to amass stuff that will take more than a carrier to evac.

Having fought and lost some major encounters I have clones and ships trapped throughout 0.0. Now I live in low sec. I've not ruled out going after space again though. Nothing beats the sense of accomplishment and drama in taking someone's space and claiming it as your own. It's a bummer when you lose it though and unless you want to join the blob, you WILL lose it sooner or later.

Gl whatever you decide matey.

Yup. When invention and rigs were introduced, these bits and bobs sold for quite alot.

lol some nice posts. To be really honest EE's and Whizz are not recruiting and if they are they are extremely disorganised. I am not about to plow time into a new corp that doesn't really know what it is trying to achieve. I had spoken with a couple of big corps but I honestly do not want to get back into just hunting PvP.

How are Better Dead than Smeg getting on in Hophib these days? I am sure the increased traffic tyhrough the region has given you guys something to shoot?

Last night I put a new research lab up. I guess that means I am going to continue with Tech II ship production on my industrial alt. It is making me some very nice ISK at the moment. As for Natasha - I am going to move her into the industrial corporation and start flying around eve. Time to do something different.

Lemme know what you decide Sharkith, looking to get involved in EVE again myself. Maybe we can team up somehow.

give me a shout in game as we can see what is up. I am still unsure right now what I want. Part of me still thinks cloud ring and drugs is worth a look and then there was also that very loverly COSMOS region I found (level 4 scope agents). Whatever I decide to do it will not be 100% PvP although I will from time to time roam with whatever group I sign up to. I do need to work with a team so definitely a new corp is what I am after.

What I don't want.
Northern NAP train (been there done that), Pandemic Legion, SoT Goons or Bob. I find all of these alliances gloating and griefing style of game play disgusting. Its a game and some people need to get over themselves.

Having been an active player in RZR's founding corp, CEI, for more than 5 years, having been an active member in Black Nova Corp for about 8 months, I can only say you're wrong in your one-sided outtake on the "Northern Nap Train".

I am willing to listen. Simply posting I have been on both sides so I know better proves nothing I am afraid. So go ahead.

lol

I've fought Razor and their nap train three times.

He's not at all wrong with his assessment of SOT, PL, Goon (current RzR blues)

As for RzR's Nap Train comment. Their Current Blue list pretty much confirms it...

Who's on there now?

TCF? Goons? PL ? SOT? MM? IRON? MH? never mind the "pets"
Stella Polaris, Majesta Empire and whoever else lives in Tribute / Branch

Your blob blots out the stars.
