I generally get stuck in a rant and change what angle I'm arguing from multiple times only to post, see what I've spouted without thinking too much and then go back and re-edit (lots).

Yes, it's daft. Yes, it takes ages. Yes, I go around in circles and it does display a rather unhealthy obsessiveness about me and my FH-posting ways. But it's how I do it.


So, back to 10 minutes from 5 on the edit times please. Pretty please

No it's been 10 from the very start of this forum. Tho i can't say i've noticed it changing to 5 minutes at any point.

OK. I've been trying to bumble along with this 5 minute edit timer which some are insisting has always existed. But it's pissing me off.

It has not. I'm hitting the thing all the time nowadays - when previously I was barely aware of its existence.

Unless I've unknowingly changed the way I post recently (which is highly unlikely) then the timer must have been longer.

Would it hurt to whack it to 10 mins? Pretty please?

Assuming mods can see all edited versions of posts most of mine must look like a right mess. I *always* seem to be editing recently. It seems you have 3 or 4 minutes before the "edited" message appears at the bottom.

But the option to delete your post is only availble through the edit feature....

I think he means "delete (within the edit time limit).... have a think.... then rewrite your post from scratch".

I went to edit my earlier post to ask why Scouse had made the thread in techy section but I was 2 minutes too late.
