Yes folks I'm unhappy with my PSP. It's just one minor thing, but it's really starting to get my goat, so my question is this

Is there any way of getting rid of the shitty 90db limit on the PSP's music player? I got mine to use as a Walkman as well as play games on, and its fine as long as I'm sitting in a quiet room - as soon as I venture outside into the town centre etc I can't hear a thing. I've turned AVLS off in the settings and tried different headphones, but nothing is working. any ideas?

Take a MP3 player like an IPOD like any sane person does.

Must be nice lugging that big black thing around in your pocket? i did that it was horrible.. next day the iPOD came out and has not been put back on my shelf since.

Haven't tried the music player yet, but the films were a bit quiet on a recent coach ride :(

My PSP fits in my jacket pocket fine, and I don't have an mp3 player so that idea's out. I bought my PSP cos it does the same job as an iPod AND plays games, so carrying two devices ain't really an option.

Get these. They're ugly as sin and look like they're uncomfortable but they are the most comfortable earphones you'll ever hear. The quality is absolutely astounding and when you're playing music that's the *only* thing you hear.

Well they might be great.. but they won't increase the volume the PSP puts out.

Yes, but they may cut/shut out the ambient noise around him, thereby allowing him to hear the music better...

Its the headphones that are limited to 90db not the psp .. get a new set of headphones without the limit and it should be louder

And the cookie goes to......

I tried some other headphones and all of a sudden the PSP can go louder than my ears can, so problem solved. Just a shame the 90db limit is in the remote control part of the headphones, so I can't use that if I want to be able to hear my tunes :(

Yeah made a ref myself to the low sound in this topic but then plugged my MP3 headphones in and it was much better....the lack of the controller does bite.
