Ok..does any1 get this (and is it normal)?

When playing RTCW or bf1942 (with vsync ONNNN i tell ya) I get what can only be described as a type of image tearing when I turn. It's really starting to fuck me off. Vsync is definitely ON and it still happens when I reduce the max FPS.

I stopped it once and think it was by trying a different driver release, but I've tried again and can't fix it :(

It's not tearing as such but I just dont know.

I have teh gainward ti 4400 golden bad boy and am running windowsXP pro with the refresh rate fiddler....have got the lates official dets.

Any one else have this kind of graphics prob?

The Leg.

It does...this problem is similar to tearing...but not technically tearing :)

Its hard to explain or show with out someone experiencing it....i've heard of someone else havin this problem but no solution was posted.

I'll try and get a screenie but it won't benefit you as it appears worse over a number of frames.

Yep its pretty normal with RtCW, which is a Q3 - based game. Q3 has vsynch off as standard. Ill look up the right commands for you and post later on, im in a bit of a hurry atm :)

Leggie, i have the same problem on BF1942, ive stopped playing it now coz its pretty unplayable when i move/turn/fire

It feels like your lagging so your pretty much a sitting duck.

What i did to test to see, was created a LAN Game, and there was no tearing in the game, completely perfect... so it has to be the server side or our connection

r_swapInterval "x"
This is the Castle Wolfenstein equivalent of vsync. Vsync effectively limits the frame rate to your current refresh rate at a given resolution. Performance can improve with vsync disabled (Frames are rendered as fast as they can be regardless of refresh rate), although you can experience image tearing &/or controller lag as a result. With vsync enabled you won’t experience either image tearing nor controller lag, although frame rate will be limited to your refresh rate. As such I’d recommend enabling vsync for best image quality & disabling it when you intend to benchmark system/game performance. Set x to 1 to enable vsync, while a setting of 0 will disable it.

There ya go m8 :) I had loads of problems with it when it came out ages ago, but now its easily the best looknig game, sp or mp, that ive played. There are some other settings as well you can look up. I tell you what if you pm me your email adress I'l send you my config and autoexec for mp and sp, and you can try them, might be easier :)
