Oh no another template... (2h Armsman)

    Hi guys and gals. After a suggestion that s/s armsmen might not be the quickest way to reach rvr utopia - I've finished off getting my 2h armsman to 50 (can't quite bring myself to try hybrid just yet). However - I've really come unstuck at the template creation phase - with the loss of one hand's worth of utility.

    My spec is: 50 2h, 44 parry, 36 slash, 9 shield. Throw in a bit of master of parry and I hope to at least provide light entertainment to all those duel wielders out there. I really would like Ceremonial Bracer (for the mezz feedback) in the template - although how I'm going to get hold of it is anyones guess at present. I have a preference towards faster swing times - hence melee speed cap and quickness have been given slight priority.

    Pauper template restrictions: By the price of some items on the CS I must be have been doing something wrong as there's no way I can afford 10p for items x, y or z. I do have access to LGM WC, AC and SC so I can pretty much craft myself anything outside of a masterpiece plate BP (which again isn't financially viable at the present time). Also - regarding artifacts - I totally unl33t at the high level pve encounters, so even with asking a lot of favours from friends, I can not readily do any of the harder artifact encounters. I've tried to only use the items that require around 4 people max.

    Can you see anything that I could obviously be doing better in the template below? There's room for slight fiddling to get the legs imbue up 0.5 points, and I could possibly get hold of a MP 2h sword instead of 99% - so don't worry about minor tweeking. Its the 8/6/5/6 % short in Energy/Heat/Crush/Slash respectively which concerns me the most, along with the 120 overcap + 40 hits which is very annoyingly being missed.

    the sc itself looks pretty good - i think the weakest point is the low UV rings / belt, maybe consider band of stars, its not that hard to farm.

    imo you would also be better off using a LW, or maybe even sun weap at times (if you dont plan on any artifact) - but you would need to rearrange SC so stats are somewhat similar, i.e so you dont lose any skills/stats when swapping around.

    nerf, edit timer ran out on me - I meant band of shadow ofc, not band of stars :) anyways, its doable with less than 4 ppl

    good call to max qui/melee spd - you might wanna use hastecharges/pots as well, for max dps, just dont be hitting me :p

    This is assuming inconnu racial resists. Lemme know if you're something else and I'll swap things around for you if you want. I'm not 100% sure the belt and right ring meet your restrictions, but check CMs or poke Dimse if you like the template, but 1 of them is a bit unobtainable :flame:

    You loose 20 AF, 14 fatigue and 3% meleespd compared to your template, but gain loads better resists, slightly more dex and qui, as well as skillbonuses, and the ability to gain +5-10% dmg by swapping damage types (heat vs leather, cold vs tanks, matter vs people who ignored that in their template/mids => ).

    Thanks for your input. I'll have a look at showhorning an LW weapon in - I've got on on the s/s armsman which I really like - it was just the albion 2h sword resembling a giant can opener which was putting me off! And yes - the belt was just thrown in because I know I can do that encounter ;) I'll see what else is about.
    Nope - Briton this time. Inconnu's low start quick (and str) put me off.
    Thanks also for your template - looks considerably better than mine. You're right about my SC calculator - its seems to be showing I've overcapped melee speed by 1% yet AFAIK I've only used 5% from harpy cloak! Time to buy the one you suggested :D

    Cool, briton also gets racial spirit resist, so you'll be at 21% there.. By far the least important resist for albs anyways, only damage that uses it is SM pbae, then some utility stuffs like skald/champ snare shout and some of the SM mezzes.

    Shame there's no room for melee/style dmg% really, but then again, that's the only real sacrifice in the template, so I guess it's a decent compromise :)

    Several Belt of the Brute on CMs for 2p, so that's not too hard to get. Besides the stats it also has a tiny heal charge (value 80).

    Ring of the Heavens maybe the hardest item in the template to get? None on CMs currently.. Drops off Karise (Braggart's Bow encounter) as well as Cyrek (Jacina's Sash encounter).. Try trade forums or see if any guildies happen to have one (or try ask Camil :worthy: ). Oh btw, it has v. useful 17% haste charges also ^_^

    Afaik ring of the heavens is extremely hard to get :<

    But looks like you can use a krojas str ring with just a few tweaks at least untill you can get hold of it :)

    I've also got a ring of the Seven Storms from somewhere which looks quite reasonable:

    So I might be able to slot that in. Anyways - thanks for the suggestions. There are some quite nice looking glowing ToA swords - "Arcanium Striking Serpant Great Sword" for example.

    It says these things generally drop off ToA mobs in the ML dungeons (Bassam in Sobekit Eternal for this particular one) - and that their levels range in the 60-68 range. I'm struggling to put a figure on how hard these encounters are - with a bb and s/s tank, can they be defeated do you think (assuming they don't use magical attacks and you can get to them in the first place without them BAF)? Or am I in dream land and in fact you need a pretty solid group to do them?

    lvl60-68 should be ok for a heavy tank with a bot really, especially if bot has fop :)
