Fuck it.

So Arcane lost a titan today. Pilot was stupid and warped in to save a tackled mothership on a station, yet he warped at 0 and got tackled himself.

The real bitch is I was in the process of recruiting that titan pilot to OSHIT.

->

[ 2009.04.14 21:46:54 ] Viper ShizzIe > recruitment's closed but I'm willing to make an exception to get another titan in
[ 2009.04.14 21:47:03 ] Amorex > lol
[ 2009.04.14 21:47:53 ] Amorex > yah i want to use my titan for big battles and acrance not in the size battles that u guys are
[ 2009.04.14 21:48:00 ] Amorex > i love to pvp
[ 2009.04.14 21:48:39 ] Viper ShizzIe > Yeah, totally understand

The original plan was to just steal it as he ejected to apply to the corp, but this popped up:

[ 2009.04.14 21:55:28 ] Viper ShizzIe > Do you PvP with Amorex outside of the titan?
[ 2009.04.14 21:55:42 ] Amorex > yah when i can dock it
[ 2009.04.14 21:56:01 ] Viper ShizzIe > ah you just use a CSMA?
[ 2009.04.14 21:56:08 ] Amorex > yah
[ 2009.04.14 21:57:53 ] Amorex > also how safe is PL with storing titans

:hurr:

Oh well, the titan only cost him 115b and he only ebayed about 80 of that. (Noticed it when I was running the APIs to check the titan fit.. I mean security check for corp recruitment).

Amorex → Chribba: -114,599,997,440.00 isk

Oh, here are the logs of his ebaying, trawled from his full API key:

In total he received 80b through contracts. If you notice the prices none of these contracts are legit. Also he created very few of these contracts, which means most were created by another party to give him isk.

he probably thought t2's were the best available hehe.

/edit: come to think about it. what exactly MAKES t2's worth buying for?

i mean, they take more to fit and all that stuff.

EH?!? :p

Basically they're the best that can be MADE and a hell of a lot better than T1 and in most cases better than the best named. Faction / Officer stuff costs shed loads more.

I pretty much T2 fit every ship if I can with exceptions made for fitting requirements / cap use.

well, yes ofc its the best u can make. but its far from the best available. and anyone that actually means buisness will go for faction/officer stuff over T2.

faction/officer stuff afaik have the same fitting requirements (CPU/PG) as the best named T1, wich is less then T2 but far surpasses T2 in stats.

someone said in that SHC thread that the reason the MOM pilot SD'd were that he probably had alot better loot that he didnt wanna give away. and from the look of it took longer to get to armor then the titan took to die.

that alone says something about how incredibly stupid it is to fit a supercap with only T2's insted of faction/officer stuff. it may not be all that bad for a battleship and below, but anything bigger then that (dread/carrier and up) makes it way to risky.

sure that titan pilot would have died anyway but atleast he could have saved SOME face by fitting it properly.

The little percentages in EVE are significant in pvp fights, the added bonuses compared to t1 stuff negate the increased fitting requirements. Some named stuff better than t2 though. (effect + less fitting)

the whole process of fitting officer items to titans is defunct nowadays, Titans generally only need good cap mods (officer/faction cap mods not worth the investment) and a good cloak (again t2 is fine for this)

Most titans DD and then GTFO. That's kinda what they're supposed to do :)

generally speaking all titans will be t2 fits. Only motherships that frontline regularly will have officer mods and many people don't even bother with those any more either due to the plethora of HIC pilots in game. People only officer fit moms when they were more or less invulnerable and could gate camp with impunity.

The HIC makes deploying any supercap without support a very risky proposition.

right, forgot about this thread *cough* :)

anyway, isnt MOM's and titans supposed to be ewar immune? hence the need to bump them with fast ships to keep them from aligning?

this is why most pl pilots have grid edge bookmarks for engagements

they pop onto grid dd everything on the grid then on the offchance someone get's tackle they know they only have to move 10m or so in a certain direction and they pop onto the next grid of space, thus disappearing from the grid where the hic is and normally being able to align and warp before the hic can get onto the next grid with them and regain point.

Yeah PL are very lame like that. Tends to be thw way eve is played these days. Bob started it now everyone does it. The irony is they 'think' that somehow in fighting bob they are on the 'right' side.
