Noticed this demo on Fileplanet and I'd never heard of it but gave it a download anyway. Fired it up and wow, the first demo in ages that I actually wanted to play all the way through.

I think one of the doom3 creators mentioned that they wanted it to be like an interactive movie, well this game is way more true to that ideal than doom3 was. The controls are a bit antiquated and the camera angles could get annoying but reckon I'll be picking this one up purely because I like horror movies.

Just hope they break up the scary bits with quiet patches of 'normality' and then buildup, buildup, buildup, buildup, BOOM - as with the old horror movie formula. Prolly one of the problems with doom3, there was no variation to break up the scary action bits so they just become tedious :/

Oh yeah and hope they aren't afraid to pop the buildup occasionally, like in the films when the thing making noises in the night turns out the be a mouse, or the mysterious figure creeping around the house turns out to be his brother. Just makes it a bit less predictable.
