Not having read the whole thread im wondering why they had such a hard time defending it. Few earth wizzies, few trebs and voilla. Tho, im surprised the guards didn't kill them. Im sure Mythic never intended a relic keep to be layed under siege by just 2fg somehow.

The Animist had endless power so they could do the lvl 40+ shrooms, those do loads of damage. they also had power drain fields over the relic keep so albs never had power to cast a spell or ress, they couldnt do the power drain fields themself either becouse of low ML or out of power.

ps. the normal shroom farms you see in rvr is like lvl 5-10 shrooms

The hibs stacked some fonts of power and healing fields, which is enough regen for infinite spreadheals and top animinst turrets, which were decimating all before them... then they put powerdraining fields down on the albs to steal all their mana and make their casters / healers useless.

There's ML counters to most / all of the others, but if you don't have them then that's sorta bad :p It's all getting balanced still anyway, so expect some changes before we get them. People still need to learn how to counter all this stuff too, 'cos it's all new.

sounds like the unlimited level 50 power drian and spread heal shroom frields buffed by Leadership and Summoning Mastery did the trick

ML9 .. thats a shit load of pve - rvr wise seems the gap will widen even more between casual and power gamers. not good

as it says later in the thread:

50 albs, the vast majority of which had little to no rvr experience, running in terribly unbalanced pickup groups.

2fg of very experienced, high RR hibs, fighting mostly in keep situations that lent themselves to exploiting shrooms and PB AOE.

Sorry, this is very inconclusive proof that MLs on the whole are overpowering. My money would have been on those hibs even pre-toa.
MLs just exacerbated the situation, but this isn't exactly the first time something like this has happened.


This is just the same as the early days of excal when the Mid guilds were the first to get fg's of 50's together and caned everyone in Emain, it's jsut a progression. Looks like the hibs on Nimue have hammered through the ML's while the albs carried on RvRing and now they're whining cause the Hibs are reaping the benefits.

It's just unfortunate that Mythic's way of "balancing" the game is to make everyone buy more add-ons.

The issue was the continuous spreadheals and powerr drains from pets as I see it, dunno what the range is on pwr taps but thats bad.......


Prepare to see Animists FoTM groups in PVE now..all trying to get to 50 and get ToA and wtfpwn

unfortunately MLs are much easier in hibernia thanks to animists being able to spam the place with pets for a lot longer than theurgists

(and poor mids dont' get anything like that :()

when you get the power fields - it makes animists just silly :)

Why? Last relic raid Mid did here there were no defenders. Even better :p

lol like 2 fg high RR hibs need ML:s to whipeout 40 n00b albs - we have NEVER seen this happen in Emain before =)

Well to be perfectly honest there seems to be two very valid sides to this.

1 - Why should I have to pay for another expansion just to be effective in RVR, when it has taken me 2+ years to get where I am today? Trials of Atlantis negates all the work I have put in on my character so far.

2 - Why when I've paid for Trials of Atlantis, put in two months of gut grinding PvE shouldn't the abilities I've earned totally decimate those who didn't buy ToA, and didn't put all those hours in?

It will be interesting to see what Mythic do about this.

My own personal take on Master Levels is that they should have been introduced either pre-ToA, allowing anyone to access them, whether using the Classic, SI or ToA clients, just like realm abilities, or as part of the RvR revamp. ToA is supposedly a PvE expansion, with Frontiers being the RvR expansion. It would have made more sense to introduce Master Levels with Frontiers, with quests having different needs based on client.

oh and Toa seems to be the worst crap ever made :\
if it was free and came before like Df or something it might have been good but now it will only ruin the game.
