Nvidia Refresh thing

I've installed the Win2k SP3 on this machine, and it's automatically updated my detonator drivers to the latest (29.42?), however, I am now locked at 60 Hz again, I remember fixing this last time with a utility called NvRefreshFix. I went to find this on google, the homepage gave a 404 error and the mirrors I could find on Planetquake don't work with the newest drivers. So, can I get rid of the refresh rate locking (preferably without having to mess around unloading and reloading drivers?)

For reference, I'm using Win2k, and a GF3 TI500.

Hi

I only use this tool as it modifies the registry and requires no prog to run! The only catch is that you have got to Re-Run the prog after every installation of the drivers :) Hardly hardship!
Works a beauty!

You can get it here

NOTE: Dont set the refresh too high! Only do what your monitor can do :p

The refresh thing shouldnt happen with the latest drivers as they have fixed it. I use the latest drivers and I have no such problems with the refresh rate :)

Well, I've stopped the capping, but the new drivers defo do have it as far as Win2k is concerned, afaik it was an OS thing, not a driver issue

if you're talking about the refresh rates in games (as opposed to windows which can be done in display properties) you can just override the refresh rate lock from DirectX's control panel.

Best way is to just fix a copy of the rates file to whichever refresh rates at whatever resolution you want and drop that file into each driver build before installation.
