Hi , I'm new and was just wondering what det drivers you geforce uses use in DaoC. I've currently got a Geforce 3 and use 23.11 det drivers, are these the best for my card/daoc or would the newer ones offer better performance within DAoC... any replies would be greatly appreciated ! :)

BTW - I just started and play on the Excalibur server. :)

too tired to answer the question :)
but just wanted to say, you're prolly gonna get flamed by some lame cunt who thinks it smart to say put your topic in the tech section.. ignore 'em, welcome to DAoC, and Excalibur :)

Prepare to lose what life you have hahaha :m00:

have Gforce on 1 system which performes nice
have ati 8500 on main system which works nice as well
use 1280x1024 resolution

get latest detonators, had a nasty reboot thing when leaving game with older drivers

use handy things like shift + p and shift + c for compas and laggometer

have loads of fun :)

I use the latest, 40.72:
http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=winxp-2k_40.72
Those are for Win2K & XP only though... with them the only problem is that the DAoC loading screens (at least on my PC) have become screwed up but the game runs very smoothly (I have a feeling I got a performance increase). They say they can give up to 25% more performance to your graphics card but who knows... read that page for info on it if you have Win2K/XP.

EDIT: Those are beta and are not WHQL certified, these are the latest certified ones...
http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=winxp-2k_30.82
(for Win2k+XP only).

I use 30.82 but really its best to find out what suits your system, although its hard to do this with DAoC(I used to play TFC Half-Life mod and this was a good way to test fps).

The ones you are using are the most stable I have found so far, and haven't noticed any speed increases on my card (geforce 4 128mb) with later drivers. Cant remember what I am on at home at mo, but it certainly aint the latest release or beta drivers cos they crash my system (xp pro).

I actually found 21.81 dets were the best for my PC when i played counter-strike, but they dont seem support with DAoC. :)

What nVidia det drivers is anyone using who has a GeForce 2 MX400 on Win XP?

(Yeah, I know it's an old card, but it's an old computer and I can't get a new one till next year).

Right then, saying there is a topic started about my gfx card ill post my problem, when i play my characture, and other things are Square around the edges, this has only started to happen after i reformatted, but iv heard people say 'Use anti-aliaising' but all that does is fuzz my screen badly, so i was wondering if anyone has any answers to this, im using 30.82 (i think) and iv got a Asus GF3, Any help will be much appriciated!

heh, well, tried the 40.72 drivers, and they work fine in EVERY game I have tried except daoc. Get quite some weird gfx errors. And as I play daoc less and less I don't feel like changing drivers just to play daoc, so I guess it will be even less of daoc till the final (and hopefully working for me as well) version of these drivers come up =)

the 40.xx det drivers work fine for me in daoc (GeForce 3 Ti200), although there is one bug, the emblems are a bit screwed, I can see all the layers on the emblems. and the diff colours are faded together, and tbh it doesn't look half bad ;)

Thank god the only problem with my computer in DAoC using 40.72 dets is that the "conneting screen" and loading screens are screwed up but it doesn't matter.
Oh yeah on more was that my paper-doll got stuck with teh same picture until I changed to another character and back.

Well, here you get the general idea of what happens to me (even tho this isn't even the worst one ;) The quickbar looks funny and the chat gets it's share of rects ;)

OMFG :D
Hehe... it can't be that blocky though, that must just be the quality of the screenshot right?
THe bugs look quite horrible though.

hehe, no, that is what happens when you compress it with jpeg and use full compression ;)

in this game i've found antialiasing to make a huge difference, but not THAT much :D i'll take a couple of screenies and post them, one will be without any antialiasing, second with the 4x antialiasing which i allways run the game with. will edit this post with the links once done.

Be nice to see :) does 4x AA have a big performance hit?

Well, when I take ss's the AA doesn't show at all, so you'd have to do a screengrab to get it with AA (the ss's doesn't come from what the card renders but what the game renders so to speak)

I use Quincunx AA btw, and it looks fine, and I don't have any performance issues due to it =)

No offence, but I don't download stuff from a website that's in a language I don't read, specially when it's an .exe file. (Is that Russian?)

I had that too.....but while the cloaks were rather pretty I did experience some vertical stripes in the 'background-scenery' too, which were quite annoying.

Switched back to the drivers that were release August 7 (no idea which version, as I'm posting this from work)

Here are some screenshots of my graphics problem, this one is without anti-aliaising http://www.cr4ig.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/blocky.jpg as you can see the edgest of mobs and other chars are very blocky. This next screenshot is with anti-aliaising http://www.cr4ig.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/fuzzy.jpg as you can see in this pic everything is just blurry i used to run DAoC without anti-aliaising before i reformatted and it was all nice and not blocky :( any ideas of what i can do to get that to stop? Any help appriciated!

Euhm, no, that was a search of the file I have on my own puter. I agree with you there on not downloading anything ur not sure of. Thats why i gave you the search page, not a direct link.

This page is in plain english, and got loads of gfx drivers for the nvidia chipset (was in the bottom of the google page :p)

Good luck!

Kedela, diff Det Drivers would, i guess, give varyin image quality - you have to find a balance between that and performance i think, when i pld Cstrike i found the 21.xx det drivers to be the best for me, now since DAoC doesnt support them im on the hunt again. :)
