Bit of an unusual question here I guess; I read on the ntl website that to get cable you have to be an NTL customer (paying them about a tenner a month for analog line rental). What I'm wondering is if you can just pay them the money but stick with my existing BT linerental for calls, payment schemes etc. I'm considering trying to get cable when I return home from uni but I dunno how my dad would feel about changing telco provider :/
I'm thinking that maybe they are trying to rope u in with this linerental so you have to pay them for all analog calls (i.e using the cable to promote their other interests)? Or can my dad keep his existing telephone setup deals and we just pay NTL the money and dont use their analog service (the cable modem service is all I want from them)?
