Just been checking out NTL's cable modem site again, i think here updating there site with new places and dates that the service will be avaliable.

Its pissed me right off, i live in Andover, Hampshire.

Hampshire is second on NTL's list of places to get Cable modems, yet down the bottom is little ol Andover with March 2000 next to it :-( whats goin on, maby they looked into it 'cause i filled out the registration form?!?

It's probably because the NTL of today, bought up lots of little cableco's to establish themselves in the UK cable market.

Each of these companies built their networks using different broadcast equipment, and as such NTL has to essentially refit every different network to support digital cable, which in turn, supports cable modems.

Their initial cable modem trial area was Guildford (original cableco: cabletel), and the press release only mentioned Hampshire, since the north-east parts of Hampshire (ie, Farnborough, Aldershot etc.) are also part of the old Guildford CableTel network.
