NTL Cable Modem Support

Dunno whether somethings happened at NTL support, but they seem to be getting their act together.

In the past I have had to ring their support line twice due to CM b0rkage, and ended up being on the phone for over FIVE hours !
This morning, I went to check e-mail, and found the CM had an error condition. Shit - another 2-3 hours on the phone, being transferred around to muppets who havn't got a clue, and then having to tear my teddy to bits in front of an executive type NTL prat to get a response.

However, I rang the CM number, and the phone was answered on the second ring ! 'Hold on' me thinks - must have dialled the wrong number. The guy on the end goes through the address BS, and then diags my CM. 'Appears to be a problem on the network at your end - we'll have somebody sorting it today Sir.'

Lo, they had it repaired within two hours !

Well impressed (first time with NTL !). As many have commented, their cable service is brill for speed, but shite for support - looks like that may be on the change though ;)

Anyone else experienced this ?

Well, moved house a few weeks ago and at the moment Ipswich is at saturation point meaning no new CM installs. So, I was quite interested in having my CM service transfered to the new house.

Called them up and it was sorted in minutes, and they promised me the bloke will turn up in 5 days to install my telephone, digital tv and cablemodem..."schyeah right" i mumbled. Lo and behold...5 days later one ntl blokie turns up and does the whole lot singlehanded. Cablemodem worked the second I plugged it in too.

I was well chuffed...till I realised later that day that the twat had knocked half a fucking brick off the front of the house whilst drilling from the inside out.

Called them up, gave it the large to the telephone operator and 20 mins later another NTL bloke turns up with building gear, mixes up some stuff, and fills the hole.

I was abso-fucking-loutly astounded :)

Thumbs up NTL
