Rightyho then, my area is now cable modem ready, and I'd really like one... but NTL say I'll have to get the CM, Digital TV and Phone for 40/month if I want one. Now, I've heard some stories of people moaning enough to them to get the cable modem service on it's own, for 25/month inc. the modem.

Does anyone know if this is possible? Anyone had/know anyone who's managed to blag the cable modem alone? I don't need digi tv, I have a phone line which is fine already but I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed the cable modem and 25/month is ok for me.

That is all :D

Cheers.

Only Telewest does CM's without the rest of the works.

that not true, with Telewest you have to already be subscibing to either a phone line rental or a digital TV package (or both), to be able to get Blueyonder CM at £25 /month. Otherwise it's £33 /month.

Sorry TUG, you have to get *at least* a single NTL phoneline. the reason for this is that the only services that an "account" can be tagged to is either telephone, or Digi TV. The Cablemodem service is then charged as an extra to the account. Accounts can not be based solely on the CM service :(
