Its the buggiest piece of software my pc has ever ran. worse than dodgy emulators.
keeps crashing, icons on menus invisible,seems like edges of screen are missing etc, etc oh well i will play q2 until patch 3.50 becomes available

Okay, I admit that before I bought this game I was very sceptical, but I bought it anyway if only for the gorgeous graphics...BUT, OH MY GOD. I played one bot match on this thing and was hooked! It's so damn nice, but not everyones cup of tea. (Or indeed, coffee)
Basically the graphics are unmatched by any released game, the different characters all have different sounds and taunts and personailties, ('Bones' jumps around a hell of a lot, whereas the 'Doom' bot seems to like the railgun a lot...they all have personal text messages as well for when they die/get fragged etc)

I admit that £35 is a bit pricey for it, but I don't think the values gone that much. You'll see me around on Barrysworld and Demon UK probably..

I would love to share my impressions of this eagerly awaited classic . . but I feckin can't ! ! every single map that loads bombs my machine to a nice grey screen and locks solid, menu choices not visible (but I knew where they were from the demo/test

oh well guess I'll have to wait for the inevitable patch . . what a surprise . . yawn.

iD software cannot patch your gfx drivers.

Drivers for V2's are quite bad atm, and needed some messing about, and editing the q3 config manually to get it working properly (crashing when I change any gfx option in menus was not nice).

Back when GLquake came out, maybe D3D was inferior to openGL, but now it's just carmack on a 'different' fad, just like all them ppl who insist on using linux
