I've heard some complaints about us not being willing enough to go out and defend our keeps and waznot in the frontiers, and to be fair i havent gone to defend/take a keep for more than a month. Why?

My reason is simple. Whenever i go to RvR i feel like im useless, dont get in groups and generelly get an attitude from 40+ ppl, of why did u bother to come, u cant kill anybody anyway. Maybe not, although i beg to differ, but then dont come screaming bloody murder when u have to defend crim on your own  coz u got what u wanted, no n00b (lvl 30-40) rps leechers in our frontier.

So there u have it, so common flame me, and say i dont do that, im a nice guy, and whatnot :puke: polish your glowing ring, but it still wont change the fact that players below lvl 40 are unwelcome in RvR, unless they are a bard who wont to play Taxi, untill u get where u want and ditch him to join your usual groups.

On a sidenote it should be said that some are actually nice to invite n00bs in their groups, no names but they are mainly from one of the bigger guilds.

I usually try to fill my groups with all kinds of ppl, lvlv is quite irrelevant. No use wasting those buffs/songs.
Except on raids because then I usually carry some rams and I prefer to stay alive to build it so I need some healers/tanks to keep guards of me and me healed a bit..
Some ppl just forget everyone plays this for fun, even though not all ppl can be dedicated enough to get to 50 quick .. Friends/guildmates first then whoever wants in the group and I do believe most people do this.

True, fun is the main thing and I think elitism and only allowing high-levels into group is generally a bad idea.

However, on something like a relic raid (like last night's) I can see definite pros for it especially when the seige weapon parts carriers need to get protected and to avoid aggro by high level mobs, but excluding people from coming is a bit lame maybe there should be a few low level groups coming to as well as numbers do help. Maybe getting the groups filled with the necessary healers, etc and then any gaps can be occupied by low levels is an example of what to do.

War is a team effort not individual and I am quite happy to lie dead in the (not so) green grass of Albion and releasing rather than have someone come back to rez me and get killed themselves (I did notice last night that they do not keep their lawns as green as the fair realm of Hibernia).

Even someone at low level (and I am level 34 so consider myself low level at RvR), you can have a part to play. A level 46 (Nildinjil) invited me into her group because she remembered me saving her by interuppting a cleric's smite with my DD shout (btw my DD shout is my most effective RvR weapon at the moment LOL).

Everyone has their part to play, even if it is in only distracting archers or casters. If that did not happen probably both Hibs would be dead but that distraction may mean the higher level and you surviving and the alb/middie dead. If it was not meant for everyone then Mythic would have had level restrictions put in the game (like they have with the battlegrounds to limit levels entering there).

Level does not equate to better player and everyone can make mistakes or contribute irrespective of level.

At the end of the day it is a game where we all have fun and relax away from real life. Let's not get too serious and elitist.

Yep, to kill a highlevel albforce for example you either need small very highlevel force or very big lowlevel force, simple as that, it's doable with lowlevels as well, if you are just VERY many.

Why bother anyway? RVR sucks most of the time anyway. Framerate drops through the floor and then you are dead. Unless you are level 45+ of course. You arent missing anything and are just wasting your own time going out there. I know. Ive seen the bloodshed (or rather my pc froze, then there was remains of bloodshed after 10-30 secs with my corpse in the middle).

RvR sucks, the whole "higher levels are invulnerable to low levels" thing spoils it for everyone. For a game that promotes RvR as the thing that makes it different (that and less downtime than EQ - whatever) to make it unplayable until you reach lvl 50 then make the PvE game redundant is scandalous. Im only playing because of the social element and the idea that maybe at some point they will work out how to make the game really really enjoyable instead of a tiring reward free slog to the death... im so glad i didnt buy that 6 month subscription

on another note, taking keeps and losing keeps and taking them again is so repetative, its ridiculous. once darkness falls becomes available, the keep situation is gonna really annoy. the frontiers will become a giant game of tennis with keeps. im not convinced it wil be fun at all. in fact, chances are it will show just how annoying the situation is, and will make 5am keep raids common. annoyance is in the post...
