Norseman or Troll?

Hello people of Midgaard =)

Im a player from Hibernia/Excalibur looking for something new
i want to make a Thane and a Warrior and proberly just raise them to 20 for first bg, maybe more if i like it but what to choose norseman or troll? at first i thought i must be a troll because of their superior str, well not a tank class in my realm so please give me a link to where i may read more about it, or simply just enlighten me

trolls can do LOADS of damage, but are generally poor shield users, and dont hdanle aggro very well.... norsemen have the same starting constitution, but lower str.... they are, however, more defensive, so if you want to use shield then norseman is the better choice... just remember that 10 points in dex

Like posted before - drop the human thing unless you wanna go all shield, and drop the troll thing unless you wanna go all 2handed weapons where their str realy go to life. For a thane or warrior i'd take a dwarf they have high con and a fair size str. Besides they look better then the human and trolls

If you wanna make a 2h offensive type thane stick 10 in str/con/pie

For a shield using defensive type thane id say 10 str/con/dex

Not that i know anything about thanes..

2 hander thane?

Well since you have an all blank account test one troll thane to lvl 6 and one dwarf thane to lvl 6 then keep the one you like most.

for a 2hander thane I would go troll! You hit like truck with those things!

For a 2hander user skip the dex... Or wait about a days before solid finds this post and start a 3 mile rant about what to choose

Only took my Troll to level 8, as a thane. 2h thane, max axe and SC. Can do yellow easy, three in a row on a good day, orange go down as well but the DT is a bitch. Don't know yet about the damage, but at this level it goes from 70(blue) to 40 or 50(orange). Not much but with the added dam from the SC it's allright.

HAve to level up a bit more to give more info but at the moment, things be looking good. In solo i really don't need high MP count (yet) since i have to rest anyway to get my health up.

Aye, do a dwarf, mate! High constitution just rocks. Got already bit more than 520 health with me L23 Dwarf thane and not too many con/health-raising items - really great fun when doing 1vs1 in Thidranki with L24 whatever enemy .

At level 50 its near impossible to differentiate Dwarfs from Norse, its a matter of 10 Str and 10 Con.

Offensive Thanes dont rely on a race, its how they are specced.

A Norse Thane can be more offensive than a Troll thane, depending on how they spec.

Basically Trolls have shitty Dex/Qui so parry and block less, but whack harder

Norse/Dwarfs have lower Str and hit weaker due to lower str and higher Qui, but they block and parry more.

(again depends on spec, a 42 Shield Troll Thane will block more than a 7 Shield Norse Thane)

I am inclined to make a statement that race choices dont mean squat on a class, its like maybe optimising that extra 2%.

End of the day pick a race you wanna play, the proof is in the pudding...errr ...Spec, hmmm, Spec Pudding

Make a kobold warrior. Level him to 24. Put some cloth armour/paper on him and give him a staff. Port to Thidranki and apply buffs as needed. Then wait for the first infil to take the bait
