Dont want to sound like im moanig but ive got a few games

Age of empires 2 ( & kings)
Empire Earth
Cossacks
Counter Strike
Quake 2

Whenever i log in to game.net the only game i can get a game of is counter strike :(

is it me or is no one playing games on here :(

Oh, missed CS on the list. Don't know what it's like now, I'm a Q3 chappy!

For the next week, before I get bored and go back to CM :)

Anyway, perhaps when GAME.net picks up I'll resurrect my CS career, the reason I don't play it is because the majority of public servers are full of twats, at least on Barrysworld you used to know who people were :/

The more populated ones (jolt, for example) are full of kiddies though, which fucks me off majorly. However I'd get away with it as my gaming tends to happen in the wee hours of the morning when everybody should be asleep.

No, because I don't have the movie or the game :)

Plus I'm off to bed to listen to a compilation of the four worst songs ever written to see if I'm still sane when I wake up. Those songs are:

The Smiths - Golden Lights
The Cure - The 13th
Radiohead - Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors
Aphex Twin - Green Calx (not good for acid, apparently!)

If you keep an eye on the servers, BW Counter-Strike 1 is generally populated at least a couple of times a week between 8 and 10. If you make the effort to get on there you will get a game.

Add BF1942 to your list and come to the games on Tuesday nights for a really good laugh. Then also download Desert Combat (a mod like CS is to Half Life), and your Wednesday nights will then be full of fun filled chopper action too.

The organised games are getting solidly better now, and I'm beginning to think that in a couple or three weeks we may even get the odd impromptu game starting up.

Oh and while you're out getting BF1942 you might want to pick up a copy of Rainbow six, Raven shield too, as it is veerrrrryy good, and I'm sure the Game.net server for it will be a great place to play, when it arrives... /me prods the server guys with a muddy stick!!

As a blatant pimp, we had 14 players playing OpFlash yesterday afternoon...and some of them were new.:D

Next game is on Tuesday.;)

Jolt is populated occasionally in the evenings afaik, but it was the same whining cunts whenever I went on :D

i know what you mean, i brought my subscription thinking that i wouldnt have to go to gamespy or use any other on-line service, it turns out that all the game.net servers are totally empty, so my subscription is useles

Please bear with it Slug, as far as most people are concerned this is a very new thing. Personally I use the barrylogin thing in conjunction with ASE, and then I can see all the servers i play on.
It will improve Im sure, but in the meantime check out the email Ted sends out every week and try to join organised games for the meantime.
If you do that Im pretty sure more games will develop. :)

Clearly, those kind of blatant pimps are exactly what the ailing online gaming community needs. So, I say pimp away!

BTW: I never play online games anymore because this area still doesn't support broadband. When this country eventually digs its way out of the internet stone age, online gaming will improve.

I've noticd a real improvment since the emails starting going out, new players will come onto the #game.ofp IRC channel before the game is due to start, and they all heard about the game via the email.

So keep up the good work.:)

Give it time

I've only been on game.net a week, but it takes time to build an online gaming community. I get a lot of success with Medal of Honor Spearhead. Recommended.

Even on Gamespy, Cossacs and Empire Earth struggle for players sometimes.
