Although i like barrysworld and i have subscribed just for the hell of it some time ago, i think its time to admit that the system simply hasnt worked very well, people on the whole arent bothering and even subscribers can be arsed messing on with logins and just go onto jolt, gamesdomain, blueyonder etc servers, its a rather strange situation because even though bworld is cheap and worth it there are lots of other servers that are free and have players in them, at the moment in a way the money isnt worth it because no ones ever in the servers so you cant play, i think its a real shame because we have lots of full free servers and empty bworld ones, i often find myself struggling to get gap in a game yet i see empty bworld servers all the time.

i know lots of people feel this way and maybe others dont, but i dont see anything changing, i signed up at the start but barrysworld are not moving in the right direction really, nothings changed since the start, they said servers will fill up and they havent and people are not coming across to bworld because other servers are still free and probably will be for some time,

Its pretty obvious why its not working and it wont work until other free servers start charging and i dont think thats going to happen, because not only have barrysworld had a disapointing amount of people on servers when BT launched there £9.99 a month (what a rip off) service virtually NOONE signed up, so few people signed up to that total rip off that they had to revert there servers back to being free,

im sure bt will charge again some time in the future even after that embaressment (that not too many people noticed) but paying to play on the whole is never really going to work ever in my opinion, simply because a lot of people do not have the money to do so and never will, you can argue with that point but if that wasnt true why do so many pay to play schemes fail and even though gaming has a more mature audience (not that u can tell in games) it seems that most people are still in school and cant afford /not allowed to subscribe to things.

Multiplayer i think was at first a new fresh thing we are marvelled at, now its a run of the mill thing and not as mainstream as you might be taken to believe, single player games still are played more and i think will be forever anyway, especially when in a public server most of the time people are either cheating, trying to ruin the game or just being idiots.

The servers have a certain snowball level, where once there are so many subs, then filling the servers wil happen itself. Hopefully game.net will fix this, since at the moment they can be a little empty.

On the other hand, I get a game on the BW servers every night, so I'm really not that bothered.;)

I'd like to see a system whereby you signed up to a single thing that made it possible to play on any GSP (that had signed up for it or whatever) and you automatically got billed a reasonable amount per minutes of games played or something. So you didn't have to sign up to multiple people and wouldn't have to do... uh I forget but whatever hopefully you get my point.
Something like that anyway.
Centralization and automation and stuff.
Would make everything easier. Assuming it's secure I guess.

Okay well just to clarify. All I want is to be able to pay (uhhh okay this is a rhetorical "pay" as my parents still pay for everything heh!!!) once and be able to access a lot of pay-per-play servers regardless of their providers. And I want to forget about it (again rhetorical, shut up.) The thing is I reckon the "average casual gamer" doesn't even bother with sites like this. I mean, the hordes of people on publics most likely just download GameSpy or ASE or whatever and let them do their stuff. To them these servers don't even exist, obviously. So, to expand on all my previous crap, perhaps the pay-per-play stuff should be advertised with the most prominent game server browsers. SERIOUSLY WOW!!!! GOOD IDEA I AM THE BEST.

Thats the problem though... I queued up to get in for about 15 minutes and gave up and went to a jolt server for some CS. In the days pre-subscription I would have lurked on a free sever knowing full well that it would be full in < 10 minutes.

Its sad that the only way we can get a game is to spend a week advertising it in the forums and I dont see that this is going to change anytime soon.

We had this experience on the cs servers. At one time they were the only ones with ppl on. I found the only way to do it was simply to go onto the server and wait.
i do realise however that BF needs more people than cs for a good game, but me and Jism only decided to play the night before, posted on here and by the sounds of it we could have filled the 32 man server, not the 16.
Maybe it was the promise of BF noobs to kill that attracted people :)
