presuming wyrd spec (comp. 50/51 weapon), and keeping envenom @ 47, play with char builder for various combos of CD/CS, and plonk them into the dps calc you can downlaod here:

Never go blades, not even at rr11 if you ask me, i have recently once again been so foolish to go blades on my NS, because template wise, its easier to make, and easier to get all capped along with all toa bonuses... Downside is rather simple though, against any decent scout you will do crap dmg, on infils you will do "okay dmg" and even on smart hunters you will only do decent dmg because they have their RAs right....
LWs is the best, along with pierce styles and 50% dex based weapon, pierce is the best choose no matter what.

Suppose perhaps going 50 blade 50 CD with Dark rising could be "fun", then you could simple place malice in offhand, and get the champ weapon which debuff slash resists on enemies. That might be fun, but still wont be as powerpull as pierce.
On paper pierce is best, and so it is ingame if you ask me.

also saves me from the trouble of changing weapons depending on class etc

Anyway in answer to the question, id wyrd the wepon spec and go 50 CD (ranger style).

With blades you can go for a 2*4.1 weapons which you can't do with LGs. No "slash resist buffs" is also a major plus. Another advantage (not listed by koun) is that you can also /use battler or /use2 malice depending on the situation, you're not restricted to carrying just one of the two.

The only thing is that in order to go blades you have to be at least rr5.

PS: I think you're reffering to malice proc, battler proc is shit anyway

malice+battler = more utlity then a pierce LW spec/temp provides. On the other hand LWs always do more dmg. Vs Sbs blades is <3 tho
