New Frontiers' Open Beta
Since the tests on New Frontiers have progressed well, we are pleased to be able to invite you to a beta test that should begin in a few days. This beta test will be run on an English server. However, only those who play with the Trials of Atlantis client will be able to access it since the Shrouded Isles version isn't ready yet. You will be able to download the New Frontiers 1.70 client from this weekend, whether you participate or not in the test since this client file will be the one you will use when the patch goes live on all servers. Additionally, you will benefit from a very high speed download during this weekend.

i just asked about it ingame to a gm
apparently its likely that we will start with /level 40, from which point (obviously) rvr is a decent level, its not hard to xp from should you feel the need, and can get some easier artifacts/lower ml's from.
last time there was housing beta, there was a crystal thing that you could sell for 100p each
i cant wait to try a pwndancer and sorc in frontiers

aye in teh houseing patch.. you got /level 30 and then a cristal that would give you /realmrank 1000p a time /level upto 48 and /diaseals 250 a time for the free armor which was fun. seeing everyone running around in dia armor hahaah

Im guessing they will give teh /realmpoints again so we can test teh new realm abilities

The unofficial answers to how it will work are as follows:
There are 'Gold and Glory' NPCs in Capitals and SI main cities. These will get you to level 50, RR5 and give you some basic level 50 gear and cash straight away. We haven't yet finalised exactly what they'll hand out but this is the likely list currently. It's possible that we may hand out MLs and activated artifacts as well however we have had problems with granting these in the closed testing so far.

Primarily, this is a test of the NF mechanics rather than class balance, artifact encounters etc, so as long as everyone is at an approximately even level and has access to a fairly representative spread of abilities, that's the important stuff covered.

free teleport service to main areas of interest (capital cities, si starting town, border forts, df)
free ra and full skill respecs

A more detailed plan and instructions for connecting to Gorre will be posted next week.

Even if you don't plan on taking part in the beta, you should still download the frontiers exe from the site as you'll need it when we go live anyway. Try and do it this weekend as a lot of bandwidth has been diverted to the download servers this weekend and you'll get the fastest rates now. This of course varies with how many people are downloading but we want to avoid having thousands of people downloading 270megs on patch day.

on gorre in the housing beta you could try all 3 realms, similarly to camlann, having chars on a realm wouldnt restrict you to that realm.
