I ran the last one day ML rush on this server.
Facts make better posts than pressing your "!" key mkay.. (actually that's a lie, his post is way better than any factual text could ever be!)

You mean apart from the vast array of insults and threats of real world violence?

I called him lazy.. It's completely accurate.
He wants an ML'ed character but actually finding out what needs to be done is too much effort for him. Instead someone else has to do that effort so he can just tag along.

The reason they are leaving is because they were expected to actually do something theirselves, couldn't be arsed, demanded that someone else did it for them instead and then got upset when someone couldn't be arsed to do it all for them.
He's not asking for help, he's asking for it to be done for him so he has to do nothing!!! If he was asking for actual help instead of a charity handout, he wouldn't of got flamed.

That's what I don't like about FH. Someone posts a question and they get flamed for no apparent reason.

I've only played this game for a year and a half, and am not a hardcore gamer, play when I can when it fits into RL. Therefore, I don't have experience of running MLs, or RvR groups. I come here for advice, and just get put off by the response to what appear to be sensible questions.

I'm at the stage where I would like to start MLs on my char soon, have been out in RvR not 100% sure what my role should be, but I wouldn't dare ask for advice or ask when MLs are being run. The sort of response I would get would just drop the pop of Dyvet by 1.

However, I hold my hand up and admit that being somewhat new to the game compared to others, I don't know all the posters on FH and perhaps some deserve the response they get. But that doesn't call for some of the ridiculous replies posted.

If we work together as a realm, then we can play better together.

The thing about freddys house is it's a community that's been around for quite along time. There's many people here (myself almost certainly included) that spam random stuff when we are bored. If the only posts here were helpful constructive replies, the forum wouldn't actually contain enough new content for people to bother checking it on a regular basis. It's the spam between people that have known each other for quite a long time that actually keeps the forum ticking over. Most of it is just that however, spam which shouldn't really be taken seriously. It's like 2 best mates insulting each other, if you think they dislike each other it's offensive and upsetting. When you realise that actually they are mostly just trying to work out who's going to the bar for the next pint, it's actually quite comical.

Posts like yours would very very rarely get anything other than sensible helpful replies however. There's a chance that after the first few replies the post may degrade into random spam but probably only after you've actually got your answer.

Take this post by Death where he proved that he could at least go make an attempt at finding out what he needed to do. He got sensible and helpful information without flames.

Death's request here really was nothing but lazy. He had worked out a date he wanted to do ML's and asked if someone could do them for him on that date. No offers to help run it despite the fact he's obviously able from the post above to find out the information on the steps. Just can someone do this for me cos I can't be bothered to do it myself.

That kind of post will get nonsense replies, like the one I posted in it. I wasn't flaming or personally insulting his mother, just pointing out that he was being somewhat lazy, which in fairness he was. If someone was actually planning to do a rush i'm sure he'd of found out about it if he had just let the thread be. There would of been some random chatter between mates between the question and answer, but probably nothing stupidly offensive.

It's the same as the level 23 character spamming 50's to PL them in game, or the people running about yelling have you got a few gold you can spare. It's fine to do it but you can't expect everyone to turn around and say sure, where do you want to meet. Your going to get people telling you to go do it yourself. Telling you to go away, or just ignoring you between the offers of help.
Contrast that with a level 23 character pm'ing 50's and asking if they know where a good place to exp for their level is, or what the best way of leveling would be. Or pm'ing another level 23 character and asking if they wanted to group up. You'd be much more likely to actually get a decent sensible answer since your not just asking the other person to do something for nothing.

Throwing yourself off the deep end with physical threats if you get an answer you don't like will always end up with you looking like an idiot and the thread ending up like this however.

I've every confidence that if you posted in the manner that you just did you'd get replies like Death did with the post I linked to. If you post something slightly less sensible then you'll probably get some random people making stupid remarks or baiting each other. If you don't bite it's all fairly harmless, and fairly easy to just ignore tho. Without the baiting most of the people that could answer your question probably wouldn't bother even coming here, so you've got to sort of accept it to a degree, just learn not to be oversensative to every flippant remark that gets posted. It doesn't take long to work out who is just baiting cos they are bored and who is actually really having a personal attack, and most people fall in the first category.

However, it can be a bit disconcerting in seeing some of the replies, and may put off people from posting a question.

It tends to be relitavely troll free since the people there tend to actually have sensible questions that they don't know the answer to.
Another way would be to pm random people with level 50 versions of your class and ask politely if they could answer a few questions. Many people have pm'ed me in game when i've been on a char asking what spec they should go or what they should be doing. I've tried to spend time giving advice (if it was good or bad i'm not really in a position to say) to people that have done that.

Check out the sticky threads for when ML's are being run and just turn up. Most groups you join on the event from my experience will try and look out for you if you let them know you have no idea what your doing.

Is he prepared to stand up and run the raid himself, find out what needs doing, farm the cash needed to run an ML rush (my last one cost me about 3p), or even offer to help the person doing that run it.

Does he want someone to do all the above so he can simply turn up on the day.

The second one, the one he is asking for is lazy. It's what 95% of the population of the game is.. Try actually attending an ML rush one day and count the number of people making zero contribution until it's time to lotto. I know that a large population of albion simply afk sticks, which is what I was refering to with my second comment.

If your going to be lazy, and he is by wanting someone else to actually do the effort for him, then accept the fact that you are. If he had made loads of effort and I called him lazy it would be an insult. If he sits back and says can anyone do it for me I can't be bothered, then it's an observation. The number of people that can't take any criticism on this forum is rediculous. I have in the past admitted i'm wrong when I feel I have been. The reply I got from the idiot threatening to beat me up in real life (gosh i'm afraid now!)means he won't be seeing any appology for pointing out a quite truthful fact from me any time soon. It's an internet forum not the helpline for the samaritans where we all hold each others hands and go "no your great really", stop expecting it to be one.

Apparently the flames arn't too hot for me. One because some nobody ranting at me on a forum really doesn't make me lose any sleep or throw my toys out of my pram. And two, his reply made minutes of comedy falling off my chair laughing.. Thx.
