Are there any alternatives to Newsgroups other than Bittorrent?

It seems my newsgroup provider has finally started removing TV episodes as fast as they are being put on. My sky recording for fringe S5 E6 failed and i cant seem to find it anywhere.

Pisses me off as I have just got a 250mb/s infinity connection and now I cant make full use of it because newgroup has turned to shit

What provider are you using?
I'm on supernews and haven't had much trouble so far.
Some people recommend https://www.tweaknews.eu/?page=tutorial/newsbin (a dutch provider)
or http://www.redorbnews.com/ (they are DMCA compliant but they use a manual process so content should be available longer)
Haven't tried them myself so don't shoot the Messenger

Who's your NG provider so we know to avoid then?

I've been using Giganews for years and never really had a problem with completion or retention. The bigger problem these days is locating what you're after. As I said in another thread, the good news is that most releases have an nzb uploaded at the same time. You just need to find the nzbs.

You need a backup block server from an alternative main provider by the sound of it.

I was originally with demonnews but things went downhill fast.


Then I moved to supernews and was able to download everything demon wouldn't let me, now it seems supernews is very hit and miss with i would say 50% of my fav shows not being available even though the indexing sites say they are less than 25 days old.

I user SuperNews and with Sick Beard i have not had a problem as yet. I hope I don't get one either I could not bare to go back to torrents SB has made everything perfect.
