Newbie: Why won't it work

Each time I try to connect to a game on the net I get a message which says

Downloading SkeletalChars

My connection is very slow and so before it has finished the 1556k download the map has been finished and it gives me a connectionn failed error message. Is there any way to stop this?

Also is it possible to stop the video from running when starting UT up?

I am completely new to this please take pity and help out.

seems like you havn't installed [all] the bonuspacks m8
there are 4 [i think] official ones that you can get from the community websites.

either that or your 'unrealtournament.ini' is wrong, check for a line like 'include skeletal chars'

Yeah, bonus pack 4 is the one with the pack you're talking about. Still, it's best to grab all the Bonus Packs as there are a lot of maps and stuff which you'll need to play on the majority of public servers. You can pick them up on the barrysworld ftp.
