Whilst Blizzard deny they're recalling or actively asking retailers and etailers to stop shipping the game to customers they have confirmed they're not releasing new copies of the game until "..we feel the game servers can support additional players."

And to prove the point the game is currently "out of stock" on Blizzards own sales page

This is a good thing right?

done up the ass by their own popularity - just hope they can sustain it else theyl end up with 30 empty servers and a massive revenue deficit

Victim of their own success, perhaps? The problem is while people will cry out for more servers and copies of the game to be made available, Blizzard must realise that a good number of people will play for a month or so but not renew. The outlay on hardware has to be significant for the server clusters and if the existing infrastucture will handle the load in, say, 2 months time it would be bad business to invest in more hardware now.

theres only a couple of servers that are effected by all this btw not all 30 of them.. people will just reroll on another server for the time being.

Its not as if theres anything half decent to play atm anyway
