Just bought a new 32" Samsung TV.. is very shineh and am loving it.

Is one of these:
Amazon.co.uk: Samsung LE32R87BD- 32" Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV - With Freeview - Black: Electronics & Photo

Wondered if there was anything important I should be doing regarding setup..

I have one of the old Premium 360's without HDMI unfortunately ;(

It's currently set to 720p.. its what the 360 defaulted to when I first started it all up.. supposedly my TV can support 1080i but I can't work out if it looks better or worse set to that instead..

I'm using the component cable.. I have a VGA cable which I'm tempted to give a go.. does this make any difference either way?

Is HDMI a big improvement? If so, is there any way I can con a HDMI-premium from somewhere? Or how much is it to exchange --> Elite?

Ta :D

Stick with 720p over component. HDMI is really only worth it if you have a 1080p TV.

No point using 1080i, as your TV will simply downscale the 1080i input to 720.

Quite a few retailers were offering trade ins for the elite. Think Aada did it, maybe he can tell you where.

Just bought the exact same tv myself yesterday. Only tried it out briefly (component cables, 720p) but from what i could tell it suits the 360 very well :) Lovely crips picture with no blurring or ghosting that i could see. Only glitch ive seen so far is that it randomly changes aspect ratio in a certain tv channel for a few seconds (stretching an already widescreen picture even further) every few min, but im hopefull that this is due to the transmission or the antenna cable (old crap noname cable). Gonna order a quality antenna cable and see if that changes anything.

I'm currently using hdmi on my elite and it looks no different than the component i used on my premium, as above i guess it only really comes in at 1080.

As for VGA i believe the quality is slightly sharper (with superman's eyes) altho causes a black border on some games.

Stick with component ;)
