New shields?

yep, if you are a 2 hand user you can stick a total of +8 +3 (11) on a shield now

I think the bonus to the new armours and weapons only activate once the four slots on the item have been spellcrafted...

In most situations certainly for mids, the shield user will want high dex for blocking etc with his shield out which can be neglected when he switches to 2handed.

+5 shield
+ 25 dex
This leaves immue points for something else maybe a few extra resist or some parry or some stat that your champ/arti weapon has. You need to put +3 shield somewhere else. However this is better than +8 shield and then +25 dex someone else.
