New Servers on Wireplay!!!!!

Announcing 4 new open (i.e., use whatever dialup you want) Quake 2 Servers on Wireplay!

As part of its continued investment in Quake 2, Gameplay has placed an extra 4 Q2 servers on its Wireplay network. There is now:-

1)Rocket Arena 2 Server - 212.140.216.57:37961

2)Instagib Server Running Classic and Custom Maps - 212.140.216.1:37927

3)OSP Tourney Server running Custom Maps - 212.140.216.5:37900

Custom Maps are - available in 1 map-pack at http://www.q2central.com/dmdl/mappack.zip

I suggest you speak to Amok. Theres been a long standing unsaid rule between BW and WP that we dont spam network/server news to each others messageboards. In fact I remember him posting an objection when Games Inferno started spamming WP boards.

Hmm well if its an 'unsaid' rule how am I supposed to know about it? I'm only drawing ppl's attention to the IPs of servers they may be interested in using - types of servers B/W doesnt even have itself for the most part......

Typical, trying to do a genuine service for ALL UK Q2ers (I'm not a WP employee fyi - just a member of the Q2 community - these views should NOT be identified with Gameplay ) and ppl start complaining....

BW don't support Q2 leagues (unless you want to catch chickens) so these can be considered a "net resource", if you like......as these are all open servers, Gameplay dont make money off them by exclusive dialup usage.

Its better to know about these resources than go on about various parties "senstitive feelings" particularly when these servers have no effect on Barrysworld at all, and at a time when Q2 needs as much support as possible.

Furthermore B/W are free to pimp their Q2 activities on our boards (I notice other leagues - even gaming sps - being mentioned further down the board) if they wish, although note we never spam our leagues and comps, only one message about useful UK servers. However as we are 'laid back' about these things they are invited to spam us with their Q2 competitions


These servers are available for everyone and ought to be publicised. This is supposed to be a Quake2 board after all

No thanks, I dont want to post individual message threads on other sites about a couple of server ports. If I want to know whats available I just update GameSpy - it aint rocket science

Your wrong about the Q2 Leagues btw.
We currently supply servers to the following:

Savage (used in their Academy i believe)
Q2 CTF Ladder League
BW Catch The Chicken League
UK Rocket Arena 2 League
UK Rocket Arena 2 HPB League
BW Action Quake Super League
Dutch Action Quake League
UK JailBreak League

and soon a FreezeTag League.

Just cos we don't host DM Leagues on our servers doesn't mean that we don't support Quake2.
