Been watching a few more of his videos - I'm starting to like this guy. Glad to see his grumpiness is not restricted to Islam - Christianity gets it too. Good stuff.

YouTube - Sharia fiasco

^ Also a good vid.

sounds like a bnp member. I agree with a very few of his points but he is generalising wildly.

I may have had a similar attitude before I watched a bunch of his other videos. The fact that he thinks all religion is insane, not just Islam, gives him credibility.

Fair point..

He really ought to learn the distinction between people and religion though..

Islam's message is not insane. The people who use it (and abuse it) are.. same with any religion or code of conduct throughout history.

But he makes some good points.. at other times he verges on BNP however.

I'd be interested to hear what specific points you felt were BNP'esque...

Also, I'd say it's arguable that religion in general is pretty insane.

Me too, I cant hear anything that sounds like the BNP, not that they're not allowed a voice anyway.

Its so easy to use these cliches to put anyone down whos trying to say something against the bullshit way we're forced to live our lives.

You just have to get BNP or Daily Mail or suchlike into a sentence, regardless if its relevant, and all the people who have been brought up into a world of Nu-Lab start climbing up the ladder to Righteous Indignation :)

He seems a very smart bloke to me.

BNP my arse, sometimes you talk a load of steaming dog bollocks Chilly, no offence meant but I cannot figure out where your head is sometimes, I'm not sure if you say such things to appear trendy or hip with the students or whoever. You are a very clever bloke, far smarter than me and I do like you but fuck me mate give it a rest.

It has become a bit of a catch-all for when people can't be bothered to expand upon what they find distasteful/offensive. Often times when people (probably myself included) have used it there may well be a valid reason behind it, but sometimes it feels like explaining yourself fully is like banging your head against a brick wall.

However, with this guy there's very little he's said I have an issue with. Other than the idea that there's some sort of pro-muslim bias in the media, something which I find absurd. Spend a few months casually reading even the more liberal press and you'll end up thinking all muslim's are hate-filled wife beaters and terrorists.

I do agree with a lot of the stuff he says but he makes sweeping generalisations about Islam I dont agree with. He puts in those little bits about "there are lots of muslims equally as embaressed as I am" but only after he has slated the entire religion several times. I agree with the equal enforcement stuff all the way, I think its bollocks that the law can apply differently just because of religion, but consider that there are also similar things in law that lean toward christianity.

BNP may have been pushing it a bit far I suppose but I dont like the way he blankets the entire religion.

100% spot on, I have so much I try to explain but it always comes out wrong. I aren't racist but I can seem it when typing on here. To prove my none racism I so would do Konnie Huq until my todger fell off.

Thing is - if you check out his other videos he slates other religions just as much, so it becomes less "bnp" and more general dislike/disdain of religion which I find commendable given my personal anti-religious leanings.

The laws in this country that lean towards Christianity are presumably there because this is a Christian country. I wouldn't consider that a reason to adjust rules for people of other faiths that come here, I totally believe that they should adjust to them. This is a very liberal easy going place, people can come and practice whatever religion they like as long as they follow the laws of the land. Chances are that any english laws that conflict with religious practices will be cases where said religious practices violate western interpretation of human/civil rights to varying degrees e.g. polygamy. It may be acceptable elsewhere but not here. If you don't like it, don't come here. End of story.

edit: hell yeah on Konnie Huq. I bet she's proper filth in the sack too, all that pent up wholesomeness from Blue Peter would have to vent.
