try running like 200 meters from the vehicle pad after "buying" something. its ridiculous, you teleport all the way back.

try getting away from a camping shrike shooting your vehicle while it is spawning. you cant! you go down with it.



i dont like it :(

but all the other stuff is cool and thanks for trying, but I dont think this vehicle teleporting thing is what the majority of players want that play this game a lot.

I've always gotten around 10-15 fps (32MB TNT2, don't ask) in my game, and it seems like it still is around that number. Gameplay is a little smoother, but the fog in Desiccator is really pissing me off still... you can't look 30 m. infront of yourself without the view being blocked :upyours:

Made bugger all diff as far as I can tell. Well, except for the vehicle teleport thing which is pretty lame.

Bah, not to mention completely cutting off using vehicle theft as a strategy for gettin away with the flag.

Was problem with using ELF gun crashing peoples systems brought in this patch or been there before? seems much more prominant now though :/ people droppin like flies on maps like quagmire using elf.

I get unhandled exceptions in T2 now - never had one before. Is there a way to unistall the patch?

Sorry guys, but I'am pretty happy with this patch. No more vehicle stealing! The performance has also improved.

I really think Dynamix are taking the piss. Has any game in the history of games been changed so much after release? They are obsessed with changing the gameplay every week or so for no good reason. All I hear is people complaining on the offical boards, and others, and with good reason. But they just don't lisen. The number of people who asked for vehicle teleporting NOT to be added must have out numbered the people who wanted it 10 to 1. Sure, there was a thieft problem but that was a problem with the community and not a fault in the gameplay. Even if a change was needed, why this stupid way? why could they have not made it so that only you could get into it for a few seconds after it spawned. At least then we could avoid bomber runs. And then there's the absolutly crap scoring system, which they made even worse in the last patch - I could go on for ages about that.
But what bugs (no pun intended) me most is the way they fix, or rather paint over, the bugs. If you have a sore nose you don't rip it off. Do you rember the lovely eye candy we once had? lets face it, Tribes2 maps are a little bland but all the neat little effects really made it special. The way the shrike blew the dust about when it hovered near the ground, the lovely shield effect, the trees, etc etc... all gone because they could not be bothered to actually fix the underlying problem of bad code. There is no reason the machines that had problems could not have run these graphics. As I have said so many times - They should be optimising the code, not watering the game down.
Another thing; It crashed twice in an hour just after I updated. Not the usual UE's, but a total lock up. Before this it only crashed (UE) once over the month I have had the game. It's not just me, I have heard of lots of people having this problem.

I'm getting the same thing since the last patch, the game just freezes after about 30 minutes :(

Personally I like the teleport into vehicle, but apart from that your pretty well spot on. All they had to do was finish the game before releasing it ;)

I like the improved belly gun on the bomber, means the bombers can shoot back at shrikes now, and it's handy vs other bombers too. I'm glad they fixed the inv station interference bug, that was a right pain. Looks like they did some important memory leak fixes, so all in all I'd say it's a good patch.

Oops, I had three crashes last night. I think it's related to the latest patch. I don't like this patch any more :(

FLB blayed BL lastnight and at one point 8 people all crashed out at once :/
All had total T2 lockups or UEs at exactly the same time :/

Same thing happened on a couple of pubbies :/

Vehicle teleport : I think it should cancel if the vehicle or player are hit

I reckon the teleport should cancel if you leave the pad.

and I get the crashes too lads :(

I heard somewhere else that its something Dynamix are aware of and as usual are "looking into it".

I bet theyre gonna find its a problem with people respawning and take it out of the game.

imo they shouldnt have changed the speeds on all the classes lights way to fast now(and I suck at ski'in) how long can ya stay in the air now? =) before even us semi skilled folks had a chance of gunning down mr ubber capper

anyways off topic, whats the new dune game like? might go get that while they sort out all the new bugs

Am I the only one to be unhappy with the fire rate and projectile speed of the spider turrets? Just can't dodge the damn things.

Is it just me or do the spinfuser discs travel faster now too?

The whole point of that map isto encourage different types of gameplay. It makes defence steer more towards the mechanical defences (turrets, sensor nets etc)

It also makes offence more interesting, you can sneak in behind a blanket of fog. If they don't have an effective sensor grid up, they are borked.

And D R E ad, you say that having all these patches is a crime. Ok it is annoying when they don't work etc (although i like this latest patch)

Dynamix made it very clear when they started work on Tribes2 that it would be a supported product after release for about 1 year or so. They said in an interview with TSN that they would be releasing a patch every week or 2 to make improvements, stop cheating/exploits and balance the game. They said this before all these bugs came out. I think it is a very good thing to have the dev team putting most of their assets into a game after completion. Look at all other games out there atm...

Half-life and Counterstrike, good game but not patched very often --- one of the most cheated games in the history of online games.

Mechwarrior4 Great game, patched once in the last 6-8 months --- one of the most unbalanced games in the history of online gaming.

IMO, Tribes2 is the most balanced game ever. Every tactic has a counter tactic, if you don't like the speed of "Mr ubber capper" mentioned above then set up a more effective sensor net. Put a satchel on the flag. Of course, Mr ubber capper can get his team to do a bombing run and knock out the satchel and turrets around the flag. To counter that, you could stick a player out in mid field to attack bombers coming in and replace a few of your base turrets with AA barrels. Oh but wait, they can come in and knock out the turrets with a msl launcher or tank, then do the bombing run, then get the capper to go in and attack the flag.

The list goes on.

According to the forums you can now get across Reversion and Deathbirds fly in 2 jumps and can outrun missiles (easier to do now than a shrike apparently now the shrike has been slowed and had shields reduced).

Apparently you can get about 600m with one decent launched jump.

I got 170 fps in the last patch uncapped, now its dropped to 90 :/
