RESPEC NOTES

In order to give players the chance to respec at high levels, we've put in the ability to find objects in the world that will grant the player a realm ability or career specialization respec.

Because of their extreme power and high worth, these objects are currently found only on the dragons in each realm's mainland. On their death, Golestandt, Gjalpinulva, and Cuuldurach will now drop fifty Luminescent Stones. Half of these will be Full Career Skill respec stones, half Realm Skill respec stones. These stones can be traded or sold to other players as any other object in the game.

Luminescent stones can then be taken to special new type of NPC (listed below) and turned in to receive the associated Career or Realm respec.

Please note that after performing a respec, all choices made are your responsibility. Here are the respec NPCs, the objects they will take, and their respec abilities:

Camelot:
Ellette Redding - Luminescent Exerpise Stone – Career Skill Respec
Paiton Hazlett - Luminescent Exeregum Stone – Realm Skill Respec

Jordheim:
Tordis - Luminescent Exerpise Stone – Career Skill Respec
Haili - Luminescent Exeregum Stone – Realm Skill Respec

Tir na Nog:
Dywana - Luminescent Exerpise Stone – Career Skill Respec
Bretta - Luminescent Exeregum Stone – Realm Skill Respec

I sort of like the idea that you just cant respec once every 10 days, its fair enough to do in once and thats it.

This here about killing the dragon for a respec stone is in my eyes a way to ensure that the dragons will be attacked more often then they do now. I meen not may people want to go have a swing at them since they are hard, drop okay loot, and its easyer to kill legion.

Dont know ... let see it in the working first.

If it works, you can have a different spec every week for as many stones as you can afford.

Not everyone wants to respec, so there's unlikely to be a mad, alliance-breaking, guild-spliting rush to get them.... or so I hope

i dont agree with the way respec has been implemented for some classes at all.

some classes have not been touched, whatsoever, and have perfectly good lines that people have swapped out of and changed - for what reason?

notice the number of air theurgs which appear? notice the number of air theurgists who were once passive earth theurgists who do not know how to control their agro in PvE? i do, i'm a cleric.

i've seen air theurgists in RvR spam keep doors with air pets (literally, like 20) from max range. i mean, please, lol, they get to the door, get one measly hit in (air pets are hardly renounded for their zerker like damage are they?) and die. there was once only 2 or 3 air theurgs on prydwen, they were looked down upon, called gimps, now there are countless numbers of them.]

to me its like, ok i'll level up a character for 40 levels, get to know it extremely well, then suddely change to a character which works very, very differently.

sure, there should be some mechanism in place to correct miss-trains, and a line-respec to get rid of lines which have been completely altered (eg. smite cleric line), but people changing their whole character like a large number of people have, imo, is questionable.

adding the respec as it is was bad enough, now offering unlimited respecs off the dragon is laughable, sure the dragon is tough, but its not unkillable. if they want to make people want to kill the dragon, make it worthwhile LOOT wise for doing so, not respec wise. if you want to put limits on respecs just charge 2plat/respec, seems a joke involving the dragon.

(btw i dont do what i preach but who cares, my cleric was respecced out of smite. my mana chanter swapped to a light chanter for 9 levels)

Our 'heros of the realm' (HA!) will have a different respec every week!

career respec, does it apply changing race also? if i were to have a chanter wich is way of magic, i couldnt change to a firby hero would i?

No its merely all skill-lines being reset.

Yeah, it looks like you can only respec your career, and not actually your character class.

Interesting that Mythic are looking into adding a Windowed mode for playing though (as it says on 1.58 patch notes).

Another of Mythics tricks, when people get bored of their A spec they can try out the B spec, keeps them them busy for a extra couple of weeks

However, this game starts looking more and more like a skilless MMOFPS (or make that second person)

You log in
Choose your weapon and armor (pick one of you level 50 classes)
Customize your abilities (/respec)
Run with your team around the level and find your enemy (run around in emain)
Killing spree!!! you fragged 4 enemies (gained 2500 (realm)points)
You get sniped by a sissy, left click to respawn (killed by a hunter type /release)

repeat blah blah blah

oh and then theres the boring part you have to do first, get to 50 and have loothunts to get stuff etc


But I guess the respec thing is still good thing, levelling to 50 is a pain and it would be a shame if your not happy with it when you finally made it
