Hello,
Not seen it mentioned so just to let nForce mboard owners aware if not already that there are new unified drivers ...

Version: 3.13
Release Date: November 3, 2003

http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_udp_winxp_3.13

for the XP version.

http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp for others.

On a Checkpoint NG course so can't check them out myself until I get home.

WHQL certified kit for nForce, nForce2, and nForce3
First release of NVIDIA IDE driver for Windows XP and Windows 2000
General compatibility fixes
Audio Improvements:
Realtek ALC655 codec support added
Fix for BSOD on loading DLS files
Reduced susceptibility to audio glitches under heavy system load; additional fixes for 6 channel GetPosition glitches
ASIO support for recording at sample rates other than 48kHz; lower and more predictable latency
Fixes for NOLF. The 3D minimum and maximum distance and the roll off factor were not being taken into account for air absorption. Also modified reverb gain so that the max distance was taken into account
Fix for EAX reverbs; initialized EAX reverbs to off when querying for the EAX listener interface; updated EAX property handlers to ignore invalid parameters instead of range limiting -- this matches Creative EAX behavior

I personally find the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" stanza to be a good one. I have to upgrade, because there is a problem with my kit, but if you're having no issues at all I don't see why you should.
Having said that, I can argue the other way round as well hehe :)

Be careful if you remove nForce drivers because they can remove the Display settings in your regsitry as I find out last week or so

very nice :)

this is the key that needs to be backed up:

Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}]
"Class"="Display"

If you're talking about the loss of the 'mixer' panel in Soundstorm I think the thing to do was to download the international version of the drivers rather than the smaller US version.

is it being updated regularly again, ... it seemed to have a lull for a while and I fell out of the habit of checking. If the news isn't updating every day, you just aren't going to check every day.

I think "we're getting there" is a fair way of putting it :)

News is going up, and I've been working on getting the news coming direct to us, so as to be rather more prompt with news, and thereby making the newsies lives easier :)

If anyone has any news related ideas or hints, or if there are specific things that you would like to see on the news page that currently seem not to be, then please send me an email or pm and I'll give it a shot :)
