New Maps

I have put together a mapping team and want to know what people want to see in our maps.
We should be releasing the pack consisting of about 25ish maps in a month or so.
We need some idea's,contructive points,and beer.
Anyone wanting to help the mapping team please come and talk to me in IRC.
ATM we consist of 3 mappers and one coders.
We also have a new mission type/mod coming out.

having lost my Tribes CD I havn't played tribes for about a 7 months now. But what me and my tribes playing friends said they want is a level with bases built into cliff faces opposite each other.

I do believe Poker is wrong

firstly you make 2 very steep hills
cut some terrain out
rotate and insert bases as appropriate

that's not a cliff, its a vertical base inserted into a very steep hill

This is the base I would love to see, just for the lunacy of it. One room, say the length and width of that duel map where both sides drop down long tunnels to get to the indoor open area, and a flag at either end, with obviously no invs and no gens.
For a map maker this would prob take 5 mins to make and it sounds like a massive melee, but would require heaps of teamwork to protect the flag.

How about a quake/ut style CTF map you know a fairly small one with two castles linked by a bridge across a canyon with the flag deep in the basement anyone ever play 2fortgore on Q2? something like that only further apart, DOH! I thinks I've almost described broadside! :E

I know what you mean.
The only problem is that creating a new base would make the map client side.
I could use the existing base modsl but i doubt it would work.
/me rings DOX to ask how to make custom bases

Ok gryff the map would be something like this.
No mines! This would actually encourage skill to be used (muahaha)
Loadza energy packs lying around. Grenades as well I guess but no grenade launcher weapons.
The playing area would have to be quite high, say the height of the bottom base area in scarbarae (ie where the corner inv station is).
The playing length and width would be about three times the length of a scarbarae base, and twice the width of a scarbarae base. Each flag should be centered against the wall of the widths of the area.
I'm now going to attempt to draw how half the map would look

New idea, could you do a capture the flag with just one flag? the flag would be in the middle of the two bases which are quite far apart and to score you have to tak the flag to a docking point inside the ENEMY base, the flag then respawns back in the centre, kinda like a game of footie??? think this would be a coowul idea
